Great for car camping. The accordian design allows you to tuck it away in your packed car and then fill it up at your camp site where it expands to full size. We used this item throughout England, Wales, and Scotland without a problem. I really like the innovative way it expands because it saved some precious room for food items. The price is also pretty darned good.

Comments about Seattle Sports Puffer Jug Water Container - Special Buy:

I originally got 2 of these for a trip crossing the California channel islands on foot. I liked how these jugs have holes on the corners ideal for attaching slings for carry and to hang from tree branches at camp Ideal for camp kitchens or even showering if the branch allows it and you can reach.

After surviving the trip I kept one of these jugs fully filled in my car in case of emergency and to hose myself after surfing. After a year of high heat exposure and semi daily use a pinhole leak formed at one of the fold corners barely noticeable but a leak nonetheless. I didn't suspect it until the water turned slightly green (the process probably sped up as a result of the heating cycles).

The other jug remained at home filled up and hasn't shown any signs of failing and has been used on other camp trips since without a problem.

Comments about Seattle Sports Puffer Jug Water Container - Special Buy:

I thought this jug looked useful when I purchased it online. Even when I picked it up at REI Denver the jug looked great - until I filled it with water. The handle is really weak so transporting this over a long distance sucks. Being a 2 gallon jug I would expect it to stand on it's own... well, it doesn't. Pouring it requires one hand to keep it upright.

It may be good for you if you plan on not moving it a whole lot. Light, but not durable.

Comments about Seattle Sports Puffer Jug Water Container - Special Buy:

Just got back from three day car camping trip that we had to bring our own water. filled two jugs for three people for drinking, cooking rice, tea, dish washing, etc., and it was great.

Would not use for backpacking because of its weight and size, but will keep them for emergency as well since living in the BayArea.

Very good price with the discount, get your money back after two jugs of water used. Supermarket has 2 Gallon water for $2.50? And my friend they all had two big jugs and end up with lots of empty containers at camp site at the end of trip. Very sad to see that. This is a enviromental friendly product. Please get one of this and use it than buying more bottled water for your trip.

            • "fold points" not durable

Comments about Seattle Sports Puffer Jug Water Container - Special Buy:

I tried this out hoping for an easily packable version of the standard 5-gal vinyl water containers

I returned them based on poor design - they are clearly made to save space, but at 1.5-2" thick when empty they actually take up more volume empty than the normal, not-expandable kink.

However, I would have returned them anyway since they do not seem built to last. The bends/creases necessary to make it expandable seem prone to failure, and the mold quality is not great which leaves some parts *very* thin compared the the rest (15-30 mil thickness or so is what it should be)
