Comments about Shimano A600 SPD Sport Road Bike Pedals:
I have used Shimano products for years and this is the first time I have been disappointed. Clipping in and out is a chore, even with tension set at its lowest and the pedal cleaned and fully lubed. Probably will return as soon I as I obtain an replacement pedal

Comments about Shimano A600 SPD Sport Road Bike Pedals:
I have been using Shimano SPD pedals exclusively for more than 5 years on 2 different bikes.
I purchased these SPD Pedals to put on my new carbon road bike. These are one of the lightest SPD pedals on the market, lighter than many higher end SPD-S pedals, and their performance has been excellent.
Like all Shimano SPD pedals if you turn the tension spring all the way loose, your shoe will never pop out even under the most oppressive climbing conditions and should you need to get out the clip in an emergency, just a slight movement to the right disengages. Very helpful for city riding.
While the entry is only on one side, after riding a while it should become "second nature." I was concerned about this at first because my other SPD's are 2 sided.
If you need to ride sometimes without clip shoes, you can put sneakers on, and pedal either side because the platform is relatively flat and wide enough.
These pedals are the perfect color match for Shimano Ultegra drive-trains but can be used with any drive-trains.
Just one note: The coating on these pedals scrapes off easy and shows wear, but does not effect performance. That look does not bother me and I am particular about the condition of the my bike.

Comments about Shimano A600 SPD Sport Road Bike Pedals:
I recently purchased these for use with a Giant Defy Advanced 1. Just finished a 120 mile two-day event and appreciated the stable platform and effecient pedaling. I really appreciated being able to walk away from the bike at the end of the second day with recessed cleats. Fortunately, I have a nice stiff pair of cyclo-cross shoes although some people would find them heavy. I figure it's easier to drop a few pounds off the body than spend lots of money to drop a few grams off equipment.

Comments about Shimano A600 SPD Sport Road Bike Pedals:
I have been using these on my road bike for about six months and I am completely happy with them. Currently building up a new bike and I will use these again.
I use SPD style because my biking often incorporates errand-running and SPD cleats/shoes allow you to walk with minimal interference compared to traditional road racing cleats. Most SDP pedals are optimized for off-road use which requires lots of clipping in and out quickly and not for road use which generally requires keeping your feet clipped in and spinning for long periods.
Previous to this I was using Shimano M324 pedals which are dual sided but the platforms are not as big and I was getting hot spots through my shoes. Since switching to the A600 my feet feel great.
These are single sided and can be a little tricker to clip into than off-road style SPD pedals, you need to flip the pedal forward as you put your foot on. Not a big deal for me but definitely something to be aware of.

Comments about Shimano A600 SPD Sport Road Bike Pedals:
Can't say much because this is my first pair of clipless pedals, but so far I love them! It's a great pair to transition from regular pedals to clipless. Also, compared to the earlier models (e.g. Shimano A530), this one has a small and sleek design, and weighs close to nothing IMO.
The one drawback is that the exterior scratches too easily... then again I am a beginner clipless user and that might just be the case with all pedals...
