The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

I wanted a basic leather belt that would last for years and years. My previous one(not REI) lasted 20+ years. I've only had this one a month so I can't speak about it's durability, but I like it so far. It is a little stiff, which I think all new leather should be. The buckle is very simple and looks like it last for a long time.
My only complaint is that the brown color is coming off onto my pants. This may happen with all new leather belts, I haven't had one in a long time, so I'm not too concerned. Also, you can't see the discoloration because the belt covers it.

Great construction but runs small as other reviewers have mentioned. I'm 5' 10", 145 lbs and ordered a 32" waist and have to use the very last hole right by the tip. If you're my size, get a 34-incher.

When I first purchased this belt I used the middle hole with a perfect fit. After a couple weeks of use the leather stretched out and I ended up having to use an awl to punch another hole in the leather so that it fit. It does it's job of keeping your trousers up and holds my knife right on my hip.

Apparently there are some manufacturing or labeling issues with this belt. I ordered my pants waist size according to the description of the product and due to the "most helpful review." Ha! It was way too small. The belt just barely goes around my waist tip to tip.
As for the belt itself, it seems fairly light, so durability may be an issue. I like that it's pretty plain and unbotrusive. I'll probably buy it again if they have it at the store for me to try on, but they didn't last I checked. That's why this one was ordered from the website.

Ordered a brown belt one size up, fit ok for while, stretched a bit, now my pants are falling down and there are no more holes. I ordered a black one, the size I normally wear and it fit on the first hole. Now I'm wearing it on the third hole, so it stretched. I guess I'll need to find a leather hole puncher for the bigger one. Great belt, real solid leather, not like the phony leather in department stores. Don't listen to the buy a size up comments, YMMV.

The belt looks great and is of high quality construction. I was uncertain about what size to order, given others' comments. I rolled the dice and picked a size above mine, and it is perfect. My waist is 35-36in, and I got the 38 inch belt. The length is perfect. Great product, highly recommended.
