- Updated Polartec® TKA 100 microfleece provides 10% more warmth and 50% more thermal efficiency than the original TKA 100 at 27% less weight
- It's also 24% more breathable and 18% more compressible, giving way to 23 cu. in. of pack space savings
- TKA 100 Microvelour Glacier Quarter-Zip provides warmth without the weight and bulkiness of traditional insulating fabrics and is highly breathable for comfort during activity
- Pill-resistant top dries quickly to minimize heat loss

Comfortable, lightweight but warm--the fabric is slightly stretchy for comfort and utility, and the sleeves are a bit on the long side, which help for layering and prevents them from riding up.

This gives you the warmth of a sweatshirt outside but because of the breathability you don't overheat when heading inside. No complaints whatsoever.

Not too bulky or casual looking, this brown fleece from North Face works well as an integral part of my husband's weekend and evening "kit". The first one was a forest green, after a year its still looking quite good with over 50 washings. New tan/brown one seems to be all the same good qualities with a more neutral color.

This has become my go to warm layer. It is extremely light, breathes well, and rolls up pretty small for a fleece. This plus a Marmot Pika shell make for a super-light, water-proof combo that is plenty warm at 40F. I also wear it as a warm layer on particularly cold running days.

These are some of the best layers available on the market. Wearing two of these on top of a short sleeve underarmour shirt and under a marmot softshell kept me toasty all day in weather in the teens. I was inactively hitchhiking for periods of up to 8 hours without moving and the warmth never left me. You may just need one of these over a shirt for being active in the mid 30s depending on humidity.
