Rated4out of5bymike n ikefromSlight squeak somewhereGreat bag however ive noticed a small squeak develop somewhere on the pack due to the suspension system. I get extremely annoyed with squeaks (replaced an old pack for that reason alone) but this one occurs seldomly and is not too loud so whatever. Also, note that the sternum clip in the front is actually a dark grey (not red as in the picture). Pockets are nice and big to carry water, jacket, bike pump, etc. The rain fly does its job. My other complaint would be the extra long straps but that could be easily adjusted with scissors

Rated5out of5bySeemore Milesfromexcellent packThis pack is perfect for long day hikes. It carries my survival kit, first aid kit, enough food for 2, a fleece and trekking poles with plenty of room to spare. I really like the magnetic bite valve holder and hip belt pockets. For shorter hikes the pack compresses down nicely so its not getting snagged on branches or throwing off balance. The mesh back, trekking pole holder and waterproof cover are a nice touch too.
Not much padding on the shoulder straps but unless you're carrying rocks around it probably won't bother you. 15lbs or so rest nicely on the hips so I have no complaints. Its pricey but I think it will last a long time. Liked it so much I bought one for my fiancé too :)

Rated4out of5byTallCamperfromFantastic Hydration Day PackThis is one fantastic pack, lots of room for a smallish pack, very comfortable. I think Osprey has the best hydration bladders/valves. The magnet on the bite valve is simple but so nice. The curved mesh back keeps it off of you back to stay cooler and keeping your body heat from reservoir. I agree with all the positive comments in other posts. My only complaint is, I'm 6'5'' with a long torso and it didn't fit very well. If your 6'2'' or shorter this pack with be great. I loved this pack so much except for the length, I gave it to my son and bought am Osprey Talon 44 for myself which is longer and more adjustable.

Rated5out of5byAlice916fromloving my packI use my pack primarily for day hikes so the size of the pack is great. I usually carry my headlamp, ball cap, bug spray, hand soap and hand/foot warmers in my pack at all times. Plus my snacks and a bottle of water. Once it warms up there's enough space to put my sweater/light jacket into the pack. Love it!

Rated5out of5bykurtsbrownfromOsprey Manta 30 Hydration Pack, 5 StarsI'm a retired Marine and I am in my Mid. 50's, and I can honestly say that I love my Osprey Manta. It wears like a glove. It's must be the internal Frame. The avg. wt. I carry is around 25 lb. and I hike anywhere from 6 to 15 miles with a Elevation gains of 2000 ft +. This pack is the best and the most comfortable pack that I have owned.
