This is the perfect coat for walking or hiking. So easy to put on, doesn't bind and looks good too! No shrinkage after washing.

Comments about Ruffwear Ruff Wear Climate Changer Fleece Dog Coat:
I bought the Ruffwear coat for my 17 year old pointer because he doesn't have a lot of fat or the tolerance for cold that he used to. Just spent 5 days in the desert with temperatures at low as 16 degrees and when I slid my hand underneath the jacket he was toasty warm. Actually i had to pull it of when he made his way into the sleeping bag because he was too warm.
The coat is easy to get on and off, and he can do his duty without any issues. Good boy!

This is a GREAT doggie sweater!
I have a 3 year old Border Collie mix that is skinny and always cold. He's 45 lbs, but has a small barrel - so we got him a medium according to the sizing chart, and it was a tad bit big but seemed to work for him. We live in Portland, Oregon, so it's not Alaska cold, but nights when it gets around 30 he starts shivering on our nightly walks, also when we go to Mt Hood on the weekend and do some snow hiking. I have also used it as an overnight sweater while camping to keep Pip out of my sleeping bag but warm enough by himself.
Pippin and I love this sweater. He's very, very active - the cloud chaser jacket overheated him because all he does is run. This seems to breathe well enough for him to enjoy himself but not overheat. When we get home from the snow, we hang the sweater up to dry and it's ready within a few hours for him to snuggle in.
I have used it in the snow for when we go hiking and it doesn't get soaked (granted, we stay on pre-packed paths) and I also love that I can see him from far away in his lichen green sweater. It's just enough - the perfect thickness - to keep him warm. It washes well and has never shrunk.
It is well worth the money in my opinion - and Ruff Wear really stands behind their products, which I always appreciate.

Picked up an extras small jacket for my miniature schnauzer. he is 20.5 inches around the chest and it fits very well - just snug enough to keep him warm and stay in place. I like the "arm" holes because they keep the jacket in place. The last jacket we used kept slipping to the side which "Eddie Haskel" really did not like.

Comments about Ruffwear Ruff Wear Climate Changer Fleece Dog Coat:
Love this fleece! It's a bit spendy but very well made. I bought this because my German shorthair shivered inside my house. Since receiving the fleece he hasn't shivered once! Easy to put on. I use it indoors, it wouldn't work outside for us because the belly is pretty long and my male dog would soak it in pee. We have a ruff wear outdoor coat that works great too! I love this company! Spendy but well worth it!!

Went camping in Pike Natl Forest at about 10000 ft in the snow. First time snow camping for us and for our 8 mo old Ridgeback Ailie. Ailie had never worn any "clothing" before and it didn't bother her a bit. She was running and jumping and playing in the snow all day and then slept in her fleece at night. It was anywhere from 15 degrees at night and up to 40 during the day. Great buy.
Comments about Ruffwear Ruff Wear Climate Changer Fleece Dog Coat:
This is a nice jacket, but the Ruffwear Cloud Chaser is far superior and I would suggest getting it if you are doing serious winter outings with your dog. If you just want something your dog can wear around the house, then this one will be fine. I find it a bit expensive for what you get in comparison to the cloud chaser.

Not only do I love this jacket, but my dog LOVES this jacket!!
Her first backpacking experience was, well, dreadfully entertaining. Sunny and warm the first day, monsooning the second, and blizzarding the third. Unfortunately, we didn't have a coat or ANYTHING for poor Lola. Same day we returned, we went to REI (yes, stinky and all) and picked this up.
It fits like a glove! And I love how the direction of the zipper - it really helps prevent the jacket from coming undone. Most importantly, it keeps our pooch VERY toasty at night while roughin it.
We no longer leave home without this jacket, and we HIGHLY recommend this to ANYONE who backpacks/camps in cooler climates!!!
