The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Lowa Renegade GTX Mid Hiking Boots - Women's:
I broke these in on Mt. Baldy, 11 miles with 4000' elevation gain in one direction, wearing liners and light wool hiking socks. I was told I was an 8.5 and got these in a size 9 -- I had no blisters and they were comfortable and stable throughout the ascent and descent of the hike. I had just hiked Mt. Whitney in them in one day with large snow patches and they were stable throughout the terrain. There were some steep slopes and icy parts of the trail, and I remained sure footed with the great traction these shoes had. Ankle support is awesome and these shoes are just so comfortable (oh and no blisters/tender toes afterwards!)
Service and delivery comments:
The REI salesperson tested and affirmed I had really stable arches; he had also told me my feet ran on the narrow side and I was wearing the wrong sized shoe all along. I had brought my previous shoes in that were giving me black/blue toe nails (trying to see if Superfeet inserts would solve the problem) and he had recommended I return them, which REI took back with no problem. I walked out a happy camper!

Comments about Lowa Renegade GTX Mid Hiking Boots - Women's:
I bought these to hike the Wonderland Trail. The insides of these boots feel like a warm fuzzy slipper...so comfortable. I really liked them, but I have average toes and a very narrow heel and my heels kept slopping around in them. Not too bad of a problem for short hikes but not what I needed for longer distances. I was forced to take them back and try something else.
But not everyone has narrow heels, so, please give these a try. They did feel like heaven on my feet and felt ready to go from the first day.

I really have flat, narrow feet and so I was thrilled when I saw these boots came in a narrow size but they were not very narrow for the length I had to buy.

Comments about Lowa Renegade GTX Mid Hiking Boots - Women's:
I've loved these boots ever since I bought my first pair, and I'm now on my third. They barely need any breaking in, nothing to speak of. Completely wore the previous pairs to shreds, but then I do wear them practically every day of the year. They are great hiking boots, but also comfortable enough to wear around town and to the office. Only downside is that the seam just above the big toe seems to wear out after a couple of years - this happened to both of my old pairs and also to my sister's. Wish Lowa would look into that. Otherwise great, can't beat it.

Great for desert terrain. I couldn't even feel the jagged rocks under my feet but man are they heavy. Been wearing them around casually and I sink into the ground after it rains but who really cares when they are waterproof.

Comments about Lowa Renegade GTX Mid Hiking Boots - Women's:
Hiked 6 miles at New River Gorge, WV in April over wet, rocky, steep terrain. No slipping, no blisters or hot spots. No pain even though I suffer from plantar faciitis. I wouldn't wear these every day on the street...they're medium weight...I wouldn't call them heavy...but not practical for everyday use, so save them for the tough trails. I ordered a wide + 1/2 size up in order to fit sock liners + wool socks. Then, I lace them up tighter or looser as needed.

Comments about Lowa Renegade GTX Mid Hiking Boots - Women's:
I had had a pair of Lowe hiking boots that I hiked the Inca Trail in and loved them. But, my feet spread and I need wide shoes now. I found these at REI and am thrilled to death. I've worn them for light hiking and using on my motorcycle but they are great! Can't wait to use them on something more. The wider width is just what I needed and I can wear a thicker hiking sock to keep my feet warm! The Goretex makes these waterproof, which I also love.

I hiked across the Pyrenees Mtns from Southern France to Spain in these boots, through mud, rain, ice, snow, boulders and rocky trails, climbing to 24,000 feet.
I wore these boots a couple of short day hikes before the big trip, but no break in was really necessary. My feet were incredibly comfortable, warm and snug in the boots. My feet were firmly planted with each step and I experienced absolutely no slippage in the ice or snow. Plus these boots are lightweight on your feet! I normally wear a size 9 shoe, but bought 10s, as I do with running shoes for a perfect toe fit!

Comments about Lowa Renegade GTX Mid Hiking Boots - Women's:
These were supposed to be extra wide. They are narrow instead, plus at least one size too small. It looks like no one was checking what was being put in the shoe box. It was a complete waste of time to research and buy these shoes. My feet will not even go into these shoes they are so small.
