Comments about Patagonia Torrentshell Jacket - Women's:

I had bought this jacket for a backpacking trip on the Appalachian Trail. Good thing I did, as I found myself in a downpour for a good part of it! This jacket was perfect with the right layers underneath. It fit just right, but can obviously be a bit on the tighter side in the bust/shoulder if you're wearing a hoodie or thick layers for city wear. If you're backpacking and using light, thin layers like a long sleeve polyester capilene to keep you warm in cooler temperatures, this is perfect. It kept me dry the entire time.

The h2No does it's job! There are so many adjustments to make the fit just right for you and pit zips for ventilation on those hikes that keep your heart rate up. I 100% recommend this jacket. I'm aware they came out with an updated line by now, which I'm not as familiar with, but this one is definitely a great choice.

Comments about Patagonia Torrentshell Jacket - Women's:

I love the construction of this jacket, and I've even used it to sit on while taking small breaks on rocky trails, and it survived just fine.

I just have one complaint. I bought the largest size and it just barely zips up past my chest. Now, I am very heavy chested and have been my entire life, and no amount of excersize or dieting seems to change that (I walk 5-8 miles a day.) Some people think this is a blessing, but it is a curse when trying to buy technical gear for a world aimed at flat chested people.

If you are a C cup or below, or even a D cup, you should be fine. For those of us who are bigger than a DD, make sure you try it on in the store or you might be dissappointed. It barely zips on me, but it *does* fit. I'd just like another inch or half inch of room so I could layer it with something.

Comments about Patagonia Torrentshell Jacket - Women's:

I haven't had a chance to try it in a downpour in the field yet, but it works well around town and for recreational hiking. I feel like I make a lot of noise while wearing this- I think it's the fabric- not annoying, but different. Also, I ordered "fennel" and I would not describe this as that color- it is much closer to a bright green lawn.

Comments about Patagonia Torrentshell Jacket - Women's:

I bought this coat because the Small fit me perfectly. It has breathing room, as well as layering room, but did not swallow my frame, which is great because a lot of rain coats do that to you.

In fact, I lost this jacket only about 2 months after purchase, and went back to REI to buy it again.

Comments about Patagonia Torrentshell Jacket - Women's:

So far I'm very pleased with this jacket. I rode down from the Oregon Zoo 8 miles in a windy heavy rain to my house -- I was dry and comfortable. Not sure if it's durable as I have only had it for a month. I finally figured out to adjust the hood so it stays up and fits snugly enough to keep out the wind -- without having to zip the jacket all the way up, engaging that rigid collar covering my chin and mouth. I don't like the stiff collar at all. These are quite common on rain jackets, uncomfortable, and I wish they'd disappear.

Comments about Patagonia Torrentshell Jacket - Women's:

Well, this is my first Patagonia jacket, and I just got it - haven't tried it in action as of yet, so I don't know if it's water/wind-proof, or breatheable, BUT: I am a bit confused by the way it looks... The outside looks like a fabric, but the inside is plastic!... Not sure it's worth of the money I paid... I would say, it's more like a $30-40 thing...
Other than that... the purple color is very nice, light reflecting, I am 5'9" @ 135 lbs, always have short sleeves problem - the sleeves are long, although I got size S. Fits very comfortable.
Not returning though - will see how it's in action. Will come back to change my feedback if it's worth and it does stand the features it claims.

Comments about Patagonia Torrentshell Jacket - Women's:

I purchased this jacket to wear in Ecuador during the rainy season. It kept me dry in even the heaviest downpours as long as I kept it zipped all the way up and the neck velcro secure. In the jungle, the arm vents were great for allowing venting.
My only complaint is that there is an inner pocket, but it is not zippered and for safety reasons, I would have liked an inner zippered pocket.
