I like fuller underwear. I don't care about style. I like to be comfortable. Lower cut underwear is uncomfortable. It's difficult to find a breathable brief that is long in the rise. I ordered several pairs after trying out my first.

I bought these on sale along with an REI brand of similar style which was also on sale. I wanted a true comparison of both before I decided on which brand I wanted to invest into. Both were comfortable, but the Ex Officio briefs dried more quickly (though REI brand dried within a reasonable amount of time). Though more expensive, I think knowing that these dry more quickly is what will bring me back to Ex Officio. Comfortable, quick drying and certainly worth it for those of us who travel a lot, camp or engage in any activity where being a minimalist really matters.

I bought 2 pairs for hiking and backpacking because I like to travel light and don't want to fuss over stuff like laundry (!) These are much more comfortable than ordinary nylon and lighter in weight than clammy cotton. They fit well, wash well, dry fast. I'm ordering 2 more pairs. Can't think of anything that's "not so great" about them. Would love to see them in more color choices, but other than that, I'm very happy with these and will probably wear them to rags on the trail.

I bought 6 of these, and just bought 3 more. They fit very well, clean easily, and dry super fast. I used them everyday on our recent 6 month trip, and was so glad I had them along. No more cottons for me!

I purchased two pairs to take on a trip to Africa where I was not going to be able to "do laundry," yet I couldn't very well carry two weeks worth of fresh underwear. By sink rinsing, I was able to have clean underwear each day. As they dried so quickly even one pair might have been fine, but that takes light packing to the extreme! I recommend a multi-purpose soap like Dr. Bronner's for one's travel bag. These underwear don't take up much room, are super comfortable, wash up nicely, and dry quickly. What more could you ask for?

I have several of the full cut briefs, and thought that was what I was getting when I purchased these. These don't have the ex-officio tag, fit smaller, and seem to be of lesser quality. They do have flatlock seams compared to the regular briefs. I still prefer the full cut briefs item # 684402

That said, sure beats cotton or other brands on the trail.

These knickers are true to size and very practical. I chose the full cut because I wanted a layer of wicking fabric beneath the hip belt on my backpack. Hi-cut briefs would have been better for unrestricted leg movement, but aren't offered in this brand.
