Rated1out of5byMikeCafromNot a good product.About a decade ago I purchased REI boxer briefs. After hundreds of washings and lots of wear. I decided to give this new version a try. Why did REI change what was such a good product? Believe all the negative reviews and save your money. These will be returned. Thank goodness I did not throw out the old pairs.

Rated5out of5byADK DaydreamerfromGreat for camping & Hiking"The REI Boxer Briefs are an excellent first layer for aerobic activities, and they also offer excellent comfort during regular wear."
My experience confirms this product description. I use them for camping and hiking and find them to be very comfortable. I've worn one pair for a weekend at least a couple of times now. They're so comfortable that I don't even feel them - no riding up, no problem with the legs being too short. They could come in handy for a quick swim in a creek or lake as I expect they would dry very quickly.
I wear 32-33 waste for my pants and the medium fits very well. After trying one pair, I got a second so I had backup for weekend camping.

Rated5out of5bywhilnginfourfromBest wicking boxer briefs there areMoisture wicking/breathable boxer briefs, whether for daily casual wear or for serious outdoors and fitness, have an interesting spectrum. On one end there are the cheap ones that don't manage moisture, odor, or breathability nearly enough. The price for these, however, are usually pretty good. On the other end of the spectrum are the super high performance briefs (ExOfficio, Patagonia, others). These are usually quite expensive, and many of these actually wick moisture too well (i.e. making them not comfortable enough for normal casual wear). Depending on the fabric or moisture management technology being used, the high end briefs are sometimes not really breathable (they move moisture but don't breathe).
These REI Boxer Briefs are my favorites and the best in my opinion because they offer the best balance of price, quality, moisture management, and breathability. The other reviewers haven't seemed to like them as much as I do, but I think they're great. My only issue: not enough colors. I own 15 pairs in all three colors and would love if you made them in khaki and olive drab too!

Rated3out of5bycapsicumfromgood while they lastI use 'em for normal everyday uses. Fit is good, feel good, and the seams themselves held up fine, but they wore out very quick, and I don't mean a little stretch, the material wore right through in a large area! Maybe it's because I wear synthetic soft-shell pants on a daily basis.(the pants don't wear through but the thread in the seams fail.)

Rated3out of5byGrayMAfromClose, but not quiteProduct fits well and is comfortable for 1 day. But this is not the product to use on a multi-day excursion - tends to chaff. Even during the day it tends to bunch up and create uncomfortable moments on the trail while one adjusts.
