Comments about Teva Omnium Multisport Sandals - Men's - '09 Closeout:
I got these sandals hoping to use them for kayaking. Big mistake! Although these are marketed as water shoes, they take forever to dry---about 48 hours indoors!! They are no more waterproof than your running shoes. On a kayak tour you would have wet feet continually.
Although they feel comfortable at first, they definitely don't have the cushioning and support of a good running shoe. I was hoping to wear them for long, hot days of walking around the city. They turned out to be wrong for that use. There is minimal arch support.
Still, I like these sandals pretty well. I use them for quick trips into town, grocery shopping, day trips to the mountains not involving hiking.
Be aware that the toe is extremely wide. So wide that you can wear these with heavy hiking socks. I did take them once on a kayak camping trip in late fall (very cold) and wore them in the evening with warm socks. They were good for that purpose. I did NOT wear them in the kayak or in the water. They make a good camp shoe.
Best features:
1. You can put them on quickly.
2. The sole is very rugged.
3. The heel is adjustable.
4. They are ventilated.
I dunno, seems like a lot of money to pay for a shoe that you can't really wear for walking long distances. They're a good shoe if you're aware of their limitations. Others may find them more comfortable than I have.
