Comments about Granger's One Step Wash and Waterproofer:

I didn't run an empty washer rinse before the first time I used Granger's all-in-one wash and the waterproofing wasn't effective. Soap residue left from the previous wash (even when set on extra rinse) was enough to prevent proper waterproofing.
Worked fine after running a pre-rinse. I have a front loading washer so fabrics don't become stratched.

Comments about Granger's One Step Wash and Waterproofer:

This is the recommended product by Marmot for cleaning and re-waterproofing their Precip jacket. It brought my jacket back to new condition, feels and works like it did the day I bought it. Definately worth the money and the time to make your jacket like new again!

Comments about Granger's One Step Wash and Waterproofer:

I work in outside in the Pacific NW almost everyday and that means generally being misted, sprinkled, rained, showered and all-out-dumped on for about 7-8 months out of the year.

I wanted something that would help make my Goretex outerwear more resistent to soaking so I went to get Nikwax but was convinced by the sales associate that the Granger's was the way to go.

Followed the instructions to a "t" and was even excited when the first rainy day came along (didn't have to wait long and it wasn't too heavy of a rain) and for the first ten minutes the rain beaded and rolled off. HOWEVER, maybe ten minutes after that dark spots began to form where the water was penetrating and by lunch my jacket soaked to the point that I had to throw in a dryer at a nearby laundromat.

Bottom line: I have no holes or tears in this jacket, it's a little over a year old (so it has moderate wear) and works pretty well still but the promise by Granger's that it would improve the performance of water resistant clothing just didn't prove to be true in my case. I still have some left and absolutely no desire to use it (I would even be willing to give it to someone to try for themselves) as it just did not work for me.
