Comments about Mountain Hardwear Double Back Belt:

Only makes sense to use with pants of an equally lightweight material. Will not carry the load of any attachments like a cellphone belt clip. When attempting to carry any clip ons the thin belt material sags and rolls. I have become content using this belt with rain pants / shells and find it's really well suited in that roll and provides lots of comfort. The buckle system is flawless.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Double Back Belt:

when backpacking i like to wear my belt just below my pak belt and you need a belt buckle that won't slip to do this or you will be expending alot of time and energy stopping and hitching your pants up every 5 minutes. it's true the webbing is thin but for it to fit this type buckle it's necessary. it grips the webbing with out causing fraying. anyway, all webbing wears out and is relatively easy to replace. the buckle is the main thing for me and is not subject to wear unless you count accidental scraping against granite type surfaces. this is the only belt i own that truly does not slip. it's wide enuf. i like the shiny texture. for me looks/style/form:function.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Double Back Belt:

I ordered this belt expecting higher quality materials and better quality control from a top brand like Mountain Hardware. BLUF: Save your money, there are better web belts out there for less than [$]. The basic design is good - great buckle, good length and width of web, but the material choice of the web is VERY thin and not high quality. It is a VERY thin web with a very wierd shiny sheen that seems to be common with low cost webbing. I doubt the web is even close to being comparable to climbing harness quality webbing. (I wouldn't wear a climbing harness made of this web). The thinness of the web makes is suseptable to rolling under even the smallest weight of only a multitool or a cell phone. It is NOT robust and I do not expect it to hold up to long term wear in a field environment. For less then [$], I can get a far more robust belt that will hold up to field wear. (I just will look like a tactical gear junkie). Additionally, the quality control is lacking. The web purports to be sewn with color matched thread stiching. - the belt I recieved is brown web sewn with a grey thread. All in all, its what's to be expected from a product sewn in a 3rd world sweat shop, where quality control attention to detail is not a priority and using subpar materials as a cost saving measure is to be expected.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Double Back Belt:

This badboy replaced my old leather belt that served me well for 7 years. I was a bit hesitant to switch to a synthetic material, for fear of durability issues. I've had no issues so far. It tightens up good. Comes off easy. Keeps my pants from falling off.

I bought this belt to wear under my climbing harness. Since day one it has exceeded all expectations. Hanging in a harness all day and still wanting to wear a belt this is the belt for you!
