Comments about REI Sahara Convertible Pants with No-Sit Zips - Men's 32" Inseam:
I bought this product a few weeks ago with my dividend, and had the chance to hike in it about 2-3 times. Its very well constructed and breathable - and I like how it's sorta water resistant!

Comments about REI Sahara Convertible Pants with No-Sit Zips - Men's 32" Inseam:
Really great pants at a great price. Light, comfortable, versatile, and packs small.
Just a tad big around the ankles, but for those wearing heavy boots this could be a plus. A velcro strap to cinch in the ankles would be great.
Would give 4.75 stars is possible.

These are great for travel and hiking.
They dry fast and are cool in the summer.
Add a base layer and they work well in cold weather.

Comments about REI Sahara Convertible Pants with No-Sit Zips - Men's 32" Inseam:
I have purchased these pants in the past because they are comfortable and a quick easy change from pants to shorts. This last pair I bought in September to wear while traveling and camping across the US lasted 2 monthes before the seams started unraveling in the crotch and inseam. I only wore them a couple days a week over the 2 monthes. Very disappointed with this purchase.

Comments about REI Sahara Convertible Pants with No-Sit Zips - Men's 32" Inseam:
I got these pants on clearance, and I'm satisfied with them generally. They are a really good, light, quick-drying material, they transform swimmingly between pant and short without taking boots off, and they're a great piece of backpacking clothing.
The one bummer to me is the pocket cut - it is a pen loser for sure! Have you ever worn dress pants and just lost things every time you reclined? Pens, and god forbid multitools, are at risk of falling out of the main pockets any time you sit down and recline slightly. I lost my swiss army knife for a moment, noticed, retraced my steps, and found it.
Fortunately, these pants have nice cargo pockets.
In short, these are good pants, but put anything important in the cargo pockets lest they fall out during a break in your hike.
Comments about REI Sahara Convertible Pants with No-Sit Zips - Men's 32" Inseam:
Been wearing them for 8 or so years.
The inside of the pants legs were shredded from rubbing up against my boots while I walk. The left upper thigh was torn from when the dog attacked me.
The Missus has been pestering me to throw them away because they are trashy.
Now the zipper is sprung and I see no way to hook it back together.
I think I can cut strips to tie up my tomato plants next year. But these pants are done.
But --- tada! Now I can put my other pair in use!!!!

Comments about REI Sahara Convertible Pants with No-Sit Zips - Men's 32" Inseam:
My buddies were jealous that the shorts were a good short length. Other brands that they were wearing had short shorts. I found these to be completely comfortable. The only minor complaint is that (ironically) on big steps the shorts would hang up on my knees just a little. On steep trains I would hold the hems of the shorts so they were out of the way. But I will still very, very happy with these pants.

Comments about REI Sahara Convertible Pants with No-Sit Zips - Men's 32" Inseam:
First pair unraveled at the crotch, then the butt and finally the rear pockets came apart. I tried a second pair, they are performing just like the first. Don't waste your money on these.

Comments about REI Sahara Convertible Pants with No-Sit Zips - Men's 32" Inseam:
I bought these pants a few years ago for my summer camping and backpacking adventures. Since then I have used them on countless occasions in various environments - Swamps/humidity of Florida; woods of the Shenandoah Mountains; and the climb of a 14er in Colorado. Each time these pants have held up and each time these pants continue to be my go-to trousers. I throw gear in my pockets and I am confident the wont rip. On one occasion I was caught in a rain storm without my rain pants. I got soaked but within 30 mins of the rain subsiding, they were dry. Truly magic pants!
My only complaint (and it is barley a complaint) the legs can be a bit baggy. I wouldn't recommend using this for close brush/bushwhacking or extensive bouldering.
