Comments about REI Baypoint Jacket - Women's:
I was looking for a light weight, waterproof jacket to wear while commuting to work in rainy conditions. While I have only had the opportunity to wear it a few times since purchased, I am quite pleased with the product. The jacket folds up neatly and is easily stashed in my backpack or my smaller tote bag. The hood is easy to unfurl from the collar while wearing the jacket and stows away with no added bulk. It is warm, breathes wonderfully and even in heavier rain the water just beads up and rolls off. I can't wait to take it hiking and see how it performs on the trail.

Comments about REI Baypoint Jacket - Women's:
This is a nice all-around lightweight jacket. I really like this jacket for travelling because it is lightweight and warm/windproof and makes a nice pillow when rolled up. It also has a stowable hood which comes in handy. I have not tried it in rain, so I am not sure how water resistant it is, but it is quite windproof and very comfortable with it's stretchy material. I am 5'7" and 155 with larger hips and the medium fits me perfectly. Love the coral color and have gotten compliments on the color and style. I also use it regularly for bicycling and with it's longer back length, it works well. Perfect for spring/fall seasons.

It's just an all around great jacket. Not for the extreme lows. I should buy a second one!

Comments about REI Baypoint Jacket - Women's:
Rarely do I actually find what I'm looking for. This was perfect- a lightweight wind/ rain jacket that didn't make you feel like you were trapped in saran wrap. I'm 5'7" and 115# and the smal fit great. Usually I find smalls to fit great everywhere but are a bit tight across the shoulders, but this wasn't at all. The only thing they might need to adjust is the amount of liner fabric in the sleeves- when I put my arm through it bunches up a bit as my hand comes out of the cuff.

This is the first that I ever write a review for a purchase I made. I was looking for a light weight, water-proof jacket last summer. After comparing with similar versions in different brands, I bought this one. I absolutely love it and I even bought another one for my Mom. Somehow I lost mine a month ago and was trying to get another one. I visited different stores and could not find one as good. So I went back to REI and found they make it again this year. So I bought my third one! I always carry it in my bag when I go out.

I usually don't write reviews, but after using this jacket for the past eight months, I couldn't help myself. The Baypoint is awesome and takes anything you throw at it. I've used it while backpacking through Europe, and inversely while hiking and mountaineering. It's been stuffed in backpacks and (literally) dragged through the mud and rocks, and doesn't show any of the abuse that it has received. I have even used it to sit on during an impromptu glissade down a slushy mountainside for an extra layer between myself and the snow, and even after running over pinecones, small rocks, sticks and whatever else, the fabric has never torn or even faded. It was definitely a very, very worthwhile purchase for all of its versatility.

Comments about REI Baypoint Jacket - Women's:
This review is definitely overdue! I intially bought this jacket in early summer last year for rock climbing- in Squamish there is a breeze that comes up around 3pm and it can be chilly when you're prespiring from a climb (especially if you are now on belay). Since the outdoor season wrapped up in September/October I didn't think I'd have much use for it- but I was wrong!
I've been using it a lot lately for both horseback riding and hiking- it's that time of year where it often gets sunny enough to toss a raincoat or fleece for just a base layer- but the breeze can still be too chilly for that alone. Introduce the baypoint jacket and presto!
I got mine in the nice purple/mauve color and it has a nice cut to it and the finish to the fabric is excellent- I've only ever seen chalk on it and a good swat gets rid of it. It doesn't show dirt and doesn't wrinkle- I've squished it up, shoved it around, mashed it into a bag and strapped it to everything and no sign of wear or tear. The tuck-away hood has been fantastic when your ears get chilly or it sprinkles out and it so neatly folds away into the collar. Very, very breathable. Seriously- everyone needs a jacket like this!
