Comments about AirDrives FIT Earphones for iPhone:
You can hear the world and people around you as you exercise but not great for noisy places (cars, airplanes, etc) so you gotta carry two seats of headphones around.

Comments about AirDrives FIT Earphones for iPhone:
The best headphones I've tried from REI, but even the best wear out fast. I've gone through a few pairs and the wiring has usually worn out after a few months. But, that's true for all headphones I've bought here.
I like them for many reasons, including the volume slider and pause button, and the fact they don't sit right in my ear.
On the downside, they're too quiet for, say, listening to talk podcasts while I walk down the street. They're also way too quiet to use for talking on my Android phone, although, strangely, they were loud enough when used with my old non-smartphone.

Comments about AirDrives FIT Earphones for iPhone:
First, as a runner in an urban environment, I thought I would like that these didn't nestle in ear canal and block all ambience. But far too often they didn't give me enough sound far - I'd have to push them further into my ear so I could hear things (like when talking on phone, spoken word recordings, or even acoustic guitar!). More than once, was on subway and I could hear autotune music coming from headphones of moron sitting next to me better than I could my own music even with mine at full volume!
Second, now they're broken, I only have sound in one ear, so I'm returning them.
You're much better off getting $10 headphones than these.

Comments about AirDrives FIT Earphones for iPhone:
I liked using this product a lot. It is perfect to listen to music even while biking so that you can still hear outside noises for safety. A drawback is sound quality, but it is fine for what I expected as an external earpiece.
What I did not like about the product was the durability. For $50 they should not just fall apart after a couple months. They were not abused or misused. The whole assembly just came apart and would not snap back together making them unusable.
My local REI store however was terrific in taking back this defective item even though I no longer had my receipt. I recommend for anyone to sign up for the REI membership.

Comments about AirDrives FIT Earphones for iPhone:
I bought these for running around town. The safety aspect of open earphones appealed to me. The sound quality isn't great, but worth the trade off for open ears and comfort. The first time I sweated while wearing these, the microphone stopped working. It's never worked since. I could've saved $10 and bought the non iPhone pair.
I thought about sending in for warranty, but paying and then waiting 6 weeks isn't worth it. If you believe in your product, you'd take care of your customers.
Save your money and buy the regular airdrives.

These headphones are it.
No more:
-falling out of my ear
-sore ears
-blowing out my eardrums
-removing headphones to talk or hear on-coming cars
I love them. Super simple to set up. They have an awesome interface with my iphone and the built in mic is fantastic.
I went from a set of headphones that fell out every 30 seconds to headphones that stay put and sound like I have my own soundtrack.

Comments about AirDrives FIT Earphones for iPhone:
These are great headphones for running, but like the other reviewers have said, they will be useless on air flights. The music comes through my older Shuffle well enough to keep my mind focused off my breathing during races and hikes, and I can hear other runners and bikers coming up from behind so I don't get run over. The sound level isn't overly loud, so if you're looking to blast music, you might want to look elsewhere.
While these stay in place relatively well during runs, it's important to note that if you have attached earlobes, like myself, the headphones do tend to fall off occasionally while running. I overcome this issue by wearing small hoop earings that the headphone loops can be placed around (in addition to a hat sometimes). This seems to work well for me.
I have tried other headphones and find those that are placed in the ear don't allow enough background noise to hear people coming up from behind me, and the earbuds themselves have been too large to fit comfortably inside my smaller canals anyway, even when a variety is included.

Comments about AirDrives FIT Earphones for iPhone:
Just bought these. It's a bit awkward getting used to fitting them around your ear. The speaker portion sits on top of your ear so you may want to think about using a different type of headphone for travelling. These allow you to still hear most noise going on in the "outside world." The sound is decent. It seems like they are pretty pricey based on overall look, feel, use, performance.

Comments about AirDrives FIT Earphones for iPhone:
i like these earphones overall - they allow you to hear both the external world and your music, but they don't intrude on anyone else. i would not recommend them on an airplane though - much to much background noise! they are easy to put on, harder to take off, but do stay in place while exercising.
