Comments about Sea to Summit Delta InsulMug:
I purchased 2 of these mugs and I didn't like them at all. They didn't keep the beverage hot very long and that was on a fall West Coast seaside camping trip. And the lid would leak coffee when ever you sipped out of it.

A good mug, and holds temp very well. See my review I did on youtube below.

Comments about Sea to Summit Delta InsulMug:
I bought this platic mug for backpacking (and, hello, drinking coffee!) after comparing it to a more expensive titanium version. Yes, the titanium very was cool, expensive and light, but this mug (at a third of the price) was more what I was looking for.
I used this cup in camp, drinking my morning cup, sitting in my tent, wrapped in my sleeping bag. It was sturdy enough to sit on the ground without falling over, it kept my coffee hot, and the lid did not leak. It's light enough that I'll take it as a comfort item.

Comments about Sea to Summit Delta InsulMug:
Well I loved this cup. K-Cop and I carried it the entire PCT. It was our one item of comfort. We cooked coffee most morning and made fun drinks in them. They held up the entire trail and we are still enjoying them. They kept our coffee warm and kept us happy. It was was kind of funny, when we hit Idllywild (130 or something) another hiker saw us pull them out and instead of making fun of us (which happened a little at the beginning of our hike) he went to the store and bought one similar. Its the little pleasures out there that keep you going and this was one of them.

Comments about Sea to Summit Delta InsulMug:
This is a great mug for backpacking. First let's talk about weight. It comes in at 4.4 oz which is 0.2 oz heavier than its most comparable rival, the snow peak double wall Ti mug (450 ml). However, the delta mug comes with a lid which is included in the weight. Once you buy the lid for the snow peak cup (1.1 oz) its total weight comes to 5.3 oz.
Moving on to price, my common sense tells me that 15+ dollars is a bit high for a plastic cup. But when you consider that fact it is three times less expensive than the snow peak mug + lid and has most of the same features, it starts to look a lot more reasonable.
Now lets talk about the material. Comparing the delta with the snow peak is no contest. Titanium is just cool. Its lightweight and virtually indestructible. But ... do you really need that. After all, its just just a cup. If it gets destroyed you could just buy another one and help keep the world economy afloat. Besides, despite the awesome power of Titanium, you still can't heat the the thing on a stove because of the double wall design. And metal conducts heat making it uncomfortable to hold really hot drinks. On the other hand, the Delta Insulmug material feels nice in your hand and doesn't conduct heat from the liquid inside. Also, I personally feel uncomfortable drinking from metal cups, because I get a little paranoid about breaking my teeth in freak "drinking" accident. But that's probably irrelevant for most people.
Some other reviewers have mentioned that the lid doesn't seal properly. The one I bought and all the ones I pawed over at my local REI seemed to have good lid seals. I tested my cup at home and the seal is very good. It doesn't leak at all. Another issue is the microwave symbol. DO NOT MICROWAVE the mug. Mine has a symbol on the bottom indicating that its microwave safe, but its not. The sea to summit website states that early production mugs were erroneously stamped with the microwave safe symbol but are not microwave safe (then or now).
I really like this mug. It's lightweight. It's easy to pack, has great functionality, feels good in your hand, and looks stylish.

Comments about Sea to Summit Delta InsulMug:
I just took this mug with me on a 3 day backpacking trip into the Sierras. It kept my hot chocolates hot at night and my coffees hot in the morning. Don't buy a mug without a lid if you want your liquids to stay hot. The only drawbacks are that it can retain a smell of the last thing that was in it and that it doesn't pack down, so it can take up precious space in a tight pack. Still, it is worth taking on the next trip.

Comments about Sea to Summit Delta InsulMug:
I picked this mug up and a snow peak double wall 450 mug today - I saw this on the shelf for the same weight as the snow peak but much cheaper and couldn't believe my eyes. the STS mug I picked out has a very snug, unwarped lid. When sipping from it, there were no spills. I don't intend to actively hike with it while full - I intend to use it for a hot beverage while having sit-down meals at camp. I took them both home and filled them with boiling water, quickly put the lids on, and measured the water temp every 5 minutes for the next 70 minutes (yes, I'm a gear nut). I used an instant-read thermometer from [...]. it took 30 minutes to get down to "piping hot but won't hurt my mouth" temperature, about 150*.70 minutes later, the water in this mug was 120*, which I find to be comfortably warm sipping temp. it seemed to lose warmth at about 1* per minute, give or take. the water lost 10* in this mug as soon as it started, I think because of the plastic absorbing more heat from the water than the titanium did. so, immediately after putting the lids on, this mug read 180 and the snow peak read 190. the snow peak mug lost heat at the same rate, but was always 10* hotter than this one at the same time intervals. This one was comfortable to hold throughout the process, while the snow peak mug was too hot to hold except by the fold-out handles for the first part of the test. the same goes for how hot the mug felt on the lip when sipping. I should note that I used a lid from my travel cup for the snow peak that was a close fit but not snug, since REI doesn't sell the lid for the snow peak. So, my verdict is - great for a sit down meal with a hot beverage or taking your tea into the tent at night with you. Pick one out in person if you can to ensure the lid fits perfectly. I'll be taking the more expensive titanium mug back to REI tomorrow and keeping this one. if you want a spill-proof travel thermos that you can stuff in a mesh pocket and keep on hiking... this isn't the cup for you.

Made a mess everytime i used it this past weekend. Was excited about the weight of it and insulating capabilities d/t camping in low temps but the mess on my chin ruined it.

Comments about Sea to Summit Delta InsulMug:
A previous reviewer said that the instructions said it's okay to microwave. Um, they do not. There is an icon on the bottom of the mug that is of a dishwasher not a microwave. If you get one like I did, read the directions, and test the lid for fit before you buy it.
Some people also complain that they would return it if they could find the receipt. If you are an REI member you don't need a receipt.

Comments about Sea to Summit Delta InsulMug:
I was looking for a lightweight, non-titanium cup with a lid and came across this mug. It is lightweight, easy to clean and insulates well...but it leaks. In addition, I have to keep my hands / fingers on top of the lid otherwise I'll be wearing my coffee. I am thinking of returning this cup becuase the lid is poorly designed.
