The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Garmin Forerunner Foot Pod:
I bought this product to help me with becoming an efficient runner for Triathlons. I've never been a runner until after I turned 50.. Reading and working with coaches I needed to learn how to run and also run efficiently.
This product combined with my Garmin 910tx have been terrific for me. Easy to set-up/pair with my Garmin and the alerts I get as well as the graphical data show me how I'm progressing and what I need to still work on.
Service and delivery comments:
I bought this at an REI store so no delivery required, bought it, paired it with my Gamin 910tx and was running within an hour.

Comments about Garmin Forerunner Foot Pod:
I bought this to start tracking my treadmill training runs over the winter training season with my Garmin Forerunner 305. So far it has worked great. It seems very accurate after calibration. It generally measures within about 1% of the treadmill over a 5 mile run. It's a very simple "set it up and forget about it" deal. When I turn on the Garmin it soon tells me that it detected the foot pod and asks if I want to use it indoors. (Don't say yes if you're running outdoors, else it will ignore the GPS). That's it. The device will track your workout and you can analyze your cadence, pace and distance when you're done.

Comments about Garmin Forerunner Foot Pod:
So I want to add about the previous poster. I would questions a trainer who does not know they need a heart rate to calculate calorie burn.
Blaming this foot pod for not working during a non-walking running activity is like blaming a drill for not cutting wood. This foot pod is designed for walking and running!
Now that said I have worn it during boot camp and arobics and I get some information but the best tool for those activities is a heart rate strap.

Comments about Garmin Forerunner Foot Pod:
Setup was a snap. Just found a local track, and got it all dialed in. Just to verify accuracy, I walked a lap, jogged the next lap, and ran one final lap. Each lap was run on the inside track just for cinsistency. Each lap amazingly came out to exaclty .25 miles (1 lap).
It is small, lightweight, and quite easy to use.
This is an essential tool for those cold or rainy days when you have to do your run on a treadmill and need a calorie count.

Comments about Garmin Forerunner Foot Pod:
It was stated that you need the foot pod to count calories for activities. This is not the case. You do, however, need the heart rate monitor strap that fits just under your chest/bust line. It also communicates with your watch and does measure calories burned by your heart beat. :)
With that said, I love the communication between the foot pod and my FR60 watch and am currently using it for marathon training.

Comments about Garmin Forerunner Foot Pod:
I bought FR60 Heartrate monitor with the specific purpose of having a calorie counting feature. I then bought this foot pod because I discovered I had to have it in order for the calorie counting feature to work. I am not a runner. I teach group exercise classes like Kick Boxing and Hip Hop Dance. This foot pod does not have a way of counting calories for any activity except walking and running. I did not realize this until I started using it [...]. I am extremely disappointed.

Comments about Garmin Forerunner Foot Pod:
The best feature for me is the ability to monitor running cadence (steps/min). It is very easy to calibrate...once done there is no need to recalibrate. Matched the calibration to a treadmill several times and the pod measures up--quite accurate. My first pod was the Suunto and I strongly declare that the Garmin pod is better by far in terms of accuracy, ease of calibration, adaptability to Nike+ shoes pocket... I am very please with this purchase.
