Comments about Atlas 1223 Elektra Snowshoes - Women's:

I'm 5'7" and I have the 27's for extra float and backcountry. There is no floatation and the snowshoes kick snow all the way up my back. my pants are wet and my back. I'm very disappointed in the shoes especially for the price. I will say entry and exit are extremely easy. My husband and son have MSR's they have plenty of teeth all the way around the shoe and there is little snow that kicks up. I will be exchanging these for those.

Comments about Atlas 1223 Elektra Snowshoes - Women's:

I used these snowshoes on hilly, untravelled terrain. I do find that I sink a bit into the snow, perhaps due to the shorter length. I have also found that if I don't have my weight centered just right on a hill (down or up), I slip--perhaps this is the shoe, or perhaps it is because this is only my second season of snowshoeing.

I am able to run in these shoes without tripping, which is great!

Overall, very happy with these shoes & not sure if the issues I'm having are due to the shoes or my limited experience.

Comments about Atlas 1223 Elektra Snowshoes - Women's:

I do on and off trail snow-shoeing. A great deal of joy in snowshoeing is jumping off trail and blazing through the thick powder. In my experience, these shoes, are great on the flat and in a climb. Traversing on the side of a hill in them provides little stability as there are not enough side placement of cleats. I also find the locking mechanisms of the bindings to freeze up, which does not allow for tightening when the foot bindings slip which they do too often. I am going to return these and get a pair of MSR's.

Comments about Atlas 1223 Elektra Snowshoes - Women's:

The most important factor to me was ease getting in and out of snowshoes. These are amazing for that, the best system there is. They do, however, kick up a LOT of snow compared to other brands. So much so, that I have wondered if the easy straps are even worth it.
