I'm very pleased with this cap. I bought it specifically for traveling to New England over the winter holidays. The cap itself is surprisingly warm for its weight, and the ear flaps do their jobs in cold, windy weather. In somewhat warmer weather, I found that the ear flaps can be comfortably pushed up over the ears.

I haven't yet used the light embedded in the cap except to show it off to friends, so I can't comment on its practicality. The light is easy to turn on and off with gloved hands since the switch is located on the underside of the bill.

I would probably not use this cap on a long term hiking or hunting trek; however, it's very useful for casual wear in colder weather.

I use this when flying at night. Its dual lights are perfect for reading charts or seeing the panel.
I fly air ambulance in Northern Alaska and with our
long nights it is invaluable. Being built-in makes it handy and not easy to misplace like the clip ons.
It is also very warm but not bulky. Doesn't have the button on top so head sets work well with it.

Good for walking in the early morning or evening hours. Strong light. The batteries seem to drain too quickly (within days) and cost $4.25/pair [...]t, much too expensive to take extended camping.

I use this hat primarily for walking the dogs on rural roads and in fields at night. It's warm and the earflaps are great when the temps dip below freezing. The light is bright enough without being blinding. The flashing option is good for alerting traffic.
I look forward to taking it camping: How many times do we forget to bring the flashlight/headlamp to the campfire in the evening? Don this cap at dusk along with your warmer clothes, and there'll be no more stumbling in the dark! It looks good too--function without being geeky!
If you step outside at night, get this hat!
