Comments about Planet Bike Versa Rear Bike Rack:
I found the rack to be oddly strong and stable.
It's rated for 25 kilos, but I can sit on the rack and roll around without it bending or flexing. Maybe an 80k load on a real ride would break the rack, but that would be a lot for any rack, rear wheel or rider.
One minor downfall is the oversized tubing, which probably adds to the sturdiness. I couldn't fit the Novara panniers in a local REI because their attachment wouldn't fit around the tubing. I'm sure another brand may work just fine.

Comments about Planet Bike Versa Rear Bike Rack:
I was looking for a disc rack that would fit a 29er hard tail type bicycle. Planet Bike claims this rack "fits 97% of all mountain and road/hybrid frames." I must be close to the 3% as I needed larger seatstay brackets and had to extend the front mount farther forward by drilling a new hole to make the rack level. Overall this is a great rack!
