        These work well for commuting in Anchorage. I orignially bought the shorter version, but I where a size 11 and use hiking boots in the winter. I had to change to the large straps to get over my boots. These are easy to install and they actually do help make pedaling easier. I have some decent hills on my commute and these helped keep my legs from getting tired.

          I use these on my mountain bike and they work great. I escaped twice this past weekend from surprise deep rutted downhill runs without mishap with the easy release. Also works on uphill for extra push.
          I am adding them to my road and touring bikes soon.
