Comments about Outdoor Research WindStopper Gripper Gloves - Men's:

These are my go to gloves when there is a chill in the air. The gloves keep my hands dry and the cold wind off of them. They have held up to holding onto trekking poles for many miles. I don't think that they would do so well if you were pulling on rocks all that much. They are light and small enough to throw in the pack at the slightest forecast of cold weather. An all around great glove.

As a disclaimer, I am affiliated with Gore for product testing of Gore-tex and Windstopper garments for the purpose of product review and recommendation. I do receive items from Gore for these purposes.

    Uncomfortable Seams Doom this Glove

Comments about Outdoor Research WindStopper Gripper Gloves - Men's:

Although the material feels soft on the outside, there is an irritating network of thick, uncomfortable seams running throughout the fingers and palm on the inside of the glove. Each finger has two thick seams that feel as if your digits are encapsulated by rough spaghetti, even with the XL size I purchased (see photo). There is also a prominent seam that digs into the fleshy part of the palm and thumb joint. These gloves may work with a base layer beneath, but they are very uncomfortable for everyday hiking use and were returned.

Comments about Outdoor Research WindStopper Gripper Gloves - Men's:

Having recently moved to Boston (coming up from Georgia) I needed a glove that performed in the much colder winters. I've got a pair of Outdoor Research mittens and like the quality and craftsmanship OR represents. I've also got a Mountain Hardwear jacket with the Windstopper fleece and love it.

Combining the OR name with the GORE Windstopper fleece, these gloves are hard to beat. They're warm and stay warm even when damp, and they block literally - all - of the wind, which adds to the overal feeling of warmth.

My only gripe and the reason for only four stars is that they're not water resistant. But aside from that, they're nearly perfect for my needs.

Lightweight, windproof, warm, simple, and stylish.

Comments about Outdoor Research WindStopper Gripper Gloves - Men's:

This product is an amazing glove.

1)First off, the loop on the cuff allows for an extremely easy slip on while still providing enough restriction keep the glove firmly on your hand during use.
2)The grip on the thumb, fingers, and top of palm is subtle yet provides good grip when wet and dry.
3)Very wind resistant and does a pretty good job repelling water in colder conditions (very good water resistance when water treatment applied to glove).

I have used my OR gripper gloves for every part of my day. They are fashionable enough to wear in any public setting and are super durable for outdoor work and play. The only situation in which this glove struggles is when you are not being active and have prolonged contact with cold objects. I find that when holding the steering wheel as I drive, the gripper provides little warmth for my hands.

Comments about Outdoor Research WindStopper Gripper Gloves - Men's:

I bought these because my leather gloves weren't cutting it during the colder months. After extensive online research, I settled on the Grippers.

They are certainly warmer and more comfortable than leather. In 10 to 30* F weather they kept my hands comfortable, although I could still feel a little cold seeping through. I bought them to wear around town, so bulk was not an option.

Bottom Line: For their size and what they are, I am very pleased. They keep my hands warm and comfortable, and I can still fish my keys and wallet out of my pockets.

Comments about Outdoor Research WindStopper Gripper Gloves - Men's:

These gloves are warm and windproof, even when wet. Your hands will get cold if constantly touching snow but what do you expect for non waterproof gloves. However after 30 min of hiking/climbing they will be almost dry again. Certain types of snow will stick to the fleece like powdery but warm snow. Consolidated snow does not stick to them.

Comments about Outdoor Research WindStopper Gripper Gloves - Men's:

These are great fleece gloves! I previously had The North Face Denali and they were great, but these are much better. I bike to work and lately it has been 35 degrees or below and my hands never even feel a breeze. I use them for sledding with my kids, hiking around Bryce Canyon, and Zion National Park and all over Southern Utah. Great for Skiing, running, and camping. The fit is great around the wrist and mine have loops to help you pull them on which is a great added feature. You cannot go wrong with these golves, to make them water proof I have a larger shell glove to go over these. Nice job O.R.!

Comments about Outdoor Research WindStopper Gripper Gloves - Men's:

I am on my second pair of OR windstopper Gripper golves. These have been my primary glove for uphill activity due to their breathability, dexterity, and warmth. They stay warm even when wet if you remain active. If you are gooking for a glove to just sit around with and stay warm these are not the gloves for you. I would have to disagree with bicyclebrown's review that they are not wind stopping. I have been on Rainier in 50mph winds and not felt much if any "blow through." Having said that I would agree with bicyclebrown that they are not stand alone glove for temps below about 10 degrees. All in all if you want a great fleece glove for aerobic activities in the mountains they are the best glove available.
