    I bought this for my 5 year old son who is very slim and on the petite side. It's pretty difficult to find him bottoms that are his length which will also fit him around the waist. These are exceptionally warm and I so wish that the elastic waist would fit him. But alas, the elastic wouldn't keep the pants up past his bottom. I think the 4T is made for huskier children or children who may still be wearing diapers. The 'REI Midweight MTS Long Underwear Bottoms - Kids' in size 4-5 fit him perfectly but are not as warm. I would recommend them but not for very slim children.
