I was VERY skeptical about this pump, but I gotta say, at this price this thing has been pretty good. I use it to inflate my 14' raft and tandem inflatable kayak. It's slower than the more expensive models, but it gets the job done. I've used it about 20-30 times now, and have never had a problem. I keep expecting it to die, but it hasn't yet. At this price I figure I can buy 5 of these for the price of one of the faster and more powerful models and still be ahead. Cord is a little short and could be a problem if all you have is a standard dashboard cigarette outlet. We have one at the back of our SUV, so it works fine with a little manipulation of the boat.

I purchased this pump for filling a large inflatable canoe rather than using my hand pump.I had low expectations for this pump when I first handled it- it is very lightweight and small, I bought it to hold me over until I purchased something a bit more substantial (at 5 times the price). This unit appears to be some mass produced [*]product that is probably rebadged under 10 different names (like their hand pump).So far the pump has exceeded my expectations.It easily filled all three chambers of my large inflatable canoe and did it quickly. When I finished with the inflation the pump was not even warm and I had left it running the entire time. I was worried that using the cigarette lighter rather than a direct battery connection may have caused problems, but it didn't and the cord didn't get hot.This pump will not fully inflate a large inflatable, you will have to top it off with a hand pump to get it to be firm, but that is standard with all electric inflators and actually keeps you from overinflating (i.e. exploding) your inflatable.One very minor gripe I had was that the cord could have been about 5 feet longer. I used every foot of cord to reach the valves on my large inflatable- but it does work fine as is.Only time will tell if this inflator can hold up to repeated use, but so far so good- it does what I need for it to do and does it well. For the price you can't go wrong.
