Comments about Arc'teryx Bird Head Toque Beanie:
Great hat, best used for fall or spring hikes where the nights can get cold once you set up camp and settle in. Also good for mild winters, but it is not the thickest winter hat so it probably won't be sufficient in really low temps(sub 25?). I got the tungsten color, but in retrospect I think the red looks a lot better.

Comments about Arc'teryx Bird Head Toque Beanie:
Some women collect shoes. I collect hats. I purchased this one because 1) Arc'teryx quality and 2) yes, purple is my new favorite color. It's snug and covers my ears, which is great for helping keep my earbuds from bouncing out when I run. I've also used it in the backcountry, the first skin up the mountain on cold days before putting my helmet on to ski down. I can wad it up, throw it in my backpack and it takes minimal space. Yep, this is my new favorite hat.

Comments about Arc'teryx Bird Head Toque Beanie:
This hat was itchy the first few times I wore it and I was nervous that it wouldn't break in; well, it did! I love this hat. I carried it all 2,184 miles of the Appalachian Trail. It was great for keeping my head warm on cold mornings and nights. It's about as stylin' as they come. The inner wool band goes with the polyester shell to make this guy warm, light, and durable. My go-to.
Only caution: I wouldn't rely on this hat for extreme cold.

Comments about Arc'teryx Bird Head Toque Beanie:
I wanted the hat as a lightweight, wicking hat to backpack in. I bought the hat because of my belief in merino wool. The area that touches you is a fleece headband. The actual merino hat portion is terribly thin. The fit is small enough that I feel like the hat will rip when putting it on. It was low cost when I bought it though.

Comments about Arc'teryx Bird Head Toque Beanie:
I told my girlfriend I wanted this for Christmas and the great girlfriend she is she got it for me. I love merino wool and I'm a believer in this brand. (Although a bit overpriced in my opinion) This beanie fits well enough to completely cover the ears and is thick enough to help block wind. Seems to be pretty durable in what is now its second winter. The logo is pretty big on the front so you may feel a bit like a walking billboard except that most people don't know the brand anyway and the logo is cool in my opinion) All in all a great beanie that I would recommend to anyone with a little extra cash looking to stay warm.

Comments about Arc'teryx Bird Head Toque Beanie:
The hat seems OK in the store, but quickly became a great nuisance as it constantly rode up the ears because it was just too small, or not elastic enough.
In a 12+ mph breeze I could feel the air coming in thru the fabric around the eras.

As far as beanies can go this piece performs up to your expectations from arcteryx.
Pros:
*This piece will keep your head warm, I guarantee it
*Toque fit allows you to pull the beanie down to cover your entire ear
*Thin construction allows this to fit very well under any helmet
*Superb craftsmanship
Cons:
*If you are sensitive to wool this will make your head itch
*You may feel like an Arc'Teryx billboard at times. (can be a pro)
Overall I would recommend this piece to anyone wanting serious warmth and function.

Comments about Arc'teryx Bird Head Toque Beanie:
I have been through a lot of beanies in my life, but I will have to say this one is by far the best I have owned. Keeps you warm......very warm, doesn't shift around on your head, and is pretty good looking. I was going to by a north face beanie, but my fiancé got me this one. Couldn't be pleased more, and now i am looking into a jacket by Arc'teryx now . I will say it was a bit pricey, but worth every penny. I would definitely buy one if it ever need to be replaced.

Comments about Arc'teryx Bird Head Toque Beanie:
This is a great fitting hat! I have tried several other beanies including SmartWool and this by far is the best. It's comfortable and doesn't slip up my head. I have a 7&5/8 hat size and this beanie doesn't feel tight and stays down over my ears and is really warm. It is very pricey but it really is worth it.
