Comments about Marmot Basic Work Gloves:

My wife bought me a pair of these gloves for my Birthday in November and they quickly became my "go to" winter driving gloves and around-town activities. They are not warm enough for skiing or true winter sports, but they are great for walking the dog and brushing the snow off the car.

Their leather construction would tempt you to use them as work gloves, but at the purchase price to replace them, I would avoid beating on them too hard.

I loved them so much that I recently used my member dividend to buy a second pair to leave in the car next winter.

      Awesome gloves!

Comments about Marmot Basic Work Gloves:

The gloves fit well and serve their purpose. It's a good glove for the price. I live in Chicago and bought them after I lost a heavier duty leather glove, that was about three times the price. I wanted something cheaper and less bulky for performing tasks such as taking your keys out you pocket and unlocking a door in cold weather. I would recommend for weather 20F and above, although I've worn the gloves in 10 to 0 F and the hands get cold.

Comments about Marmot Basic Work Gloves:

I question whether these are work gloves. Not because they don't work, they do! But because they're so gorgeous, too. I'm not a backwoodsman/outdoorsy type, in general. I have plenty of cheap work gloves that'll do the trick. I needed something I could wear with my nice coats and yet still be warm and dry and sturdy. These gloves are all that and more. And at that price? They cannot be beat.

My only complaint is that I haven't seen tan come back in a large.

Comments about Marmot Basic Work Gloves:

Bought gloves to use while bushwhacking. I'm used to wearing gloves out, but these gloves did not last very long (holes in finger tips) - lasted much less than even relatively un-tough deerskin gloves I've bought in a hardware store. I was willing to pay more for these gloves assuming they would last longer, but that proved to be not the case.

Good glove for use in light snow. Wearing it in the mid 20's and my hands are not cold. Its not a bulky glove. The leather is supple, even in the 20's

Comments about Marmot Basic Work Gloves:

These are the best lined leather glove I've ever used. The way the finger panels are designed allow you to be able to actually use your finger tips. I usually wear a Medium, and tried them first. I returned them for a set of smalls that fit great after just a bit of stretch. The finger tips fit tightly enough that I can open the cowling latches on my cargo airplane, and operate all the switches for startup and radios.

Riding my bicycle in the 30 degree range however is too much. They are just a lined leather glove, not a high loft insulated ski glove. So don't expect them to be as warm as a ski glove. They are great for winter driving, flying and general outdoor work as the name suggests.

Do be careful in selecting a size: the length of the fingers of the Medium size gloves varied by at least 1/2 inch.

Comments about Marmot Basic Work Gloves:

I have used these gloves for 3 months (Nov-Dec) in Wisconsin, and they have been excellent! For me, the fit is true to size. I normally wear a men's large and the large size fits my hands like, well, a glove. I have worn these gloves in temps ranging from the mid 30's to the mid teens. At the lower temps, as long as I am active, my hands will stay nice and warm. I haven't worn them in wet conditions yet so I really can't comment on water resistance. My guess is that since they are leather, they will provide decent water resistance in moderate conditions. Definitely not intended for rainy conditions. I would highly recommend these gloves to anyone who is looking for comfortable, durable and affordable hand wear. You can't go wrong with Marmot!

These gloves were a fabulous purchase- great for driving, living and working in the windy Montana winters. The first women's insulated work gloves I've found that actually fit- no scrunching or pinching.

I am a ski lift electrician, and I find these gloves to be an excellent choice for a lightweight, insulated leather glove. They have been very durable and quite comfortable. Not for the coldest weather, but great for fall and spring weather.
