Comments about Gregory Advent Pro Pack - '08 Closeout:
if your thinking of pulling the trigger on this one, DO IT. this pack is perfect for those committing to the minimalist approach. dual entrances are great and easily allow quick access to items like water filtration and the front pouch fits a pair of teva's beautifully. this thing can carry 25 lbs. like a breeze, but too much more might be pushing it depending on your comfort range. its perfect for long day hikes or ultra-light expeditions.
i'm by no means fully minimalist, as i still enjoy cold beverages along the creek and prolite thermarest inflater. even with these luxuries, the advent pro still performs. this pack combined with the triconi 60 are all i need to accommodate anything the backcountry can through my way. check it.

Comments about Gregory Advent Pro Pack - '08 Closeout:
Took this pack on a 30 mile three day hike along Golden Gate Park into Muir Woods. The pack held up well. Compartments were easy to access. The hip belt was useful for small stuff like energy bars, camera and cell. Overall. the pack performed well. Light weight, adjustable, and several compartments for organizing. I am an exceptionally tall, thin female and cannot comfortably wear the women's packs. I felt this pack fit well and adjusted to my body for easy carry, the shoulder pads were a little bulky and the numerous points of contact restricted upper body movement when traversing tight areas. My only other complaint were the plethora of cords, rips and adjustments straps hanging free. I fashioned a make shift fastener for all the excess straps but felt the length and number were excessive for the design of the pack.
