Comments about Light My Fire Spork:
Bought this product to try and cut down on weight in my pack. I figured the multi-use functionality would be good and make it a good buy. WOW WAS I WRONG!
The first time I used this utensil it broke! I had just finished cooking my dinner and I laid the utensil against the brim of my bowl so unintentionally, it warmed up slightly, lying against the brim of the bowl for maybe 10 seconds (this bowl was not burning hot, only warm to the touch). I then picked it up to begin eating and I stuck the fork portion into a piece of food and it broke. This immediately triggered a few choice words inappropriate for this review. Luckily, I had some electrical tape and two paper clips that I used to tape the middle section together with and used the paper clips as support for the spine of the utensil.
Based on my experience with this utensil I can confidently say you should not buy this product.

Comments about Light My Fire Spork:
Mine snapped right in half after about a month on the road during a walking trip from Nevada to Seattle WA. Spend a few extra bucks and get something more durable, not to mention, something easier to use. It never felt very good in my hand while holding it.

Comments about Light My Fire Spork:
Bought 2, one broke the first time I cleaned it, the second while eating ice cream. Because it's plastic, you cannot cook with it. The knife is, of course, useless. I won't buy this again. Maybe the titan version.

Comments about Light My Fire Spork:
The design is nice and useful, but they are not durable. I purchased two of these, one broke while washing it before it's first use. I exchanged it and used them for a one night trip without any problems. The second trip that they were used on ended up with one breaking the first night of use. I would either stay away from these or buy metal ones as the design is nice.

Second trip out and it crumbled like that gum you got in your baseball cards. It was treated with care and completely failed. I can't believe they would test this and approve whatever plastic they are using. Simply garbage,

Comments about Light My Fire Spork:
I purchased this spork because I'd heard a lot of people raving about it. I was surprised by how flimsy it is. I expected it to be stiffer than your standard take-out food spoon. The knife-blade fork prong broke on the first use.
After about 15 uses, I can still use the spoon, but the fork part has only one tine. I will not replace after it breaks in half.

Comments about Light My Fire Spork:
Functionally speaking, these spoon-fork-knives are pretty decent for their intended usage, and they're definitely lightweight, which is always a plus. Unfortunately, I can no longer trust this product on an extended trip as I'he now had 3 of these break in usage. All while eating soft mountain house meals. It really sucks to be 3 days from the trailhead and your only eating utensil snaps in half. If you are going to use these, I would definitely recommend bringing a few extra, they really do break, and almost always at the least opportune moments.

Comments about Light My Fire Spork:
I have been using this spoon for car camping adventures, but recently went on a 3-day backcountry snowboarding trip in Mt. Rainier NP. Wearing lots of layers and forgetting where I put my spoon, I placed it in a pocket of a fleece sweater. I had the sweater on during a hike with a heavy pack up a saddle. My guess is that the spoon broke with the pressure from my backpack's hip strap or from falling. Either way, if you're less mindful like me sometimes, it's probably best to go with a light titanium spoon or just remember where you place things.

Comments about Light My Fire Spork:
I was pretty excited to see this on sale and should have taken that as a sign. Its far too flimsy for any thick stuff and too short to comfortably use (and I have relatively small hands). The knife edge is completely useless since almost always when you want to cut something requiring a knife you need to hold it down with a fork... well you can't when they're the same tool. If you happen to be eating 2 things, one requiring a fork and one a spoon, you're stuck switching ends and due to the short length you're at least potentially getting food on your hands.
You'd be better off buying a 'traditional' spork.

Comments about Light My Fire Spork:
I've been using this spork for about 6 months. I might use it for 2-5 meals a day so its been pretty lightly used. Today as I was cutting into an orange with the serrated part so I could start peeling it, 2 of the tines of the fork came off, one of the was the tine with the serration. There wasn't much of a snap either, it just came off and stayed in the orange. It seems something is causing the plastic to break down because I can see tiny cracks in the remaining tines. I'll wait and see when those break off too. This was only [$] when I bought it so it isn't much lose. And I'd still say it was worth that[$] just don't expect it to last too long.
