        I have used this product on tents, packs, patio umbrellas, patio furniture covers, old sun flys and just about everything else outdoors. I can say it waterproofs VERY WELL 100% without stiff crackilying your gear. Solar protection is hard to guage as I have only used this product for a year now. This is by far the easiest to apply, just use your hand inside of a gallon plastic bag to spread evenly and not get soaked up by a sponge.

          Easy to apply. Must wipe tip every 30 or so sprays. Use a plastic or parchment glove to spread the product evenly.

          Living in an apartment complex and having the jeep out without the hardtop on I needed my cab cover to become virtually water proof. I got this product on recommedation from a REI customer service rep. Took me a while to spray the entire top, but once I got it on I couldn't have been happier. I went from 1-1.5" of water in my front seats and cupholders to absolutely dry in the front and cupholders. This spray has held up to blowing wind and rain and still kept my interior completely dry. I highly recommend this product since if it can hold up to pea size hail and not leak through the top and constantly being outside, it's well worth the [$]. Yes I will most likely buy a couple more just to have it handy.

          Problems with spray bottle

          I bought this on the recommendation of the manufacturer of Kelty shade shelters as a way to protect nylon from decomposing from the UV of the desert sun. I decided to spray it on my new Big Agnes tent fly, after having another fly deteriorate badly from many months of exposure to desert sunshine. I can't speak yet to the efficiency of the product in prolonging the life of my tent fly, but I can state that spraying it on was difficult. The environmentally friendly spray bottle, the kind one uses for household cleaning products, had no adjustment for the size of the spray. I found that there was a mixture of fine particles (which I wanted for even coverage) and large globs. I tried to address the globbing problem by wiping with a damp cloth -- as the manufacturer recommends -- but it seemed as if the cloth absorbed more than it spread.

          The half liter bottle sprayer clogged after I'd used less than a quarter. I washed it off with a garden house to make it functional again. I had to wash it off about 4 times, and the product still dripped down all over my hands.

          I think the dispenser would be fine for small items, but I'd recommend spreading with a non-absorbent cloth or piece of plastic wrap to get an even distribution, or using the product liberally and then wiping up the excess.

          I'll check back in the future if the product increases the life of my tent fly.

            I bought some of this waterproofing spray because in the higher altitudes, the sun's UV does damage tents and rainflies. I also needed waterproofing too, so this filled both needs in one.

            First tried it 3 summers ago. Since then, I apply it annually, if not more often, depending on where I've been, where I'm going, and how many days my tent will be used. My daughter uses it too.
