Comments about SmartWool Headband:
This is what you need when you don't want to wear a hat under your helmet because that will get too hot/sweaty but this thing will keep your ears warm so you can keep ridin with your homeys.

Comments about SmartWool Headband:
At first I mainly used this product for running, but now use it for nearly all cold weather physical activity. If there is light precipitation or bright sun, I'll slip it over my DWR-treated ball cap. It keeps my head and ears warm without overheating like a beanie would.
I have the neck gaiter made of the same material as well, at it has lasted through years of extended hard use, machine washing, and even some dog-chewing. The wool repels odor, and stays comfortable.

Comments about SmartWool Headband:
I purchased this headband for running during cold weather. I wanted something to keep my ears warm while not making my head too hot as my wool cap was doing.
This headband performs much better than I could have expected. I wondered how effective it would be at first since it is so thin, but it does a great job at keeping my ears warm while running, even down to 10 degrees.
When I started bicycle commuting to work, I discovered this headband had another great use. Since it is so thin, it easily fits under my bicycle helmet. I use it for riding in temperatures ranging from the low 40s to mid-50s. I liked the headband so much, I purchased the Smartwool balaclava for riding in colder weather.
Since it is so light and compact , I have also added this headband to my pack for hiking in conditions where cold-weather could develop unexpectedly. It fits nicely under my warm-weather hat.

Comments about SmartWool Headband:
I bought this for my mom originally, but I tried it on and kept it for myself. It's perfect for running in the fall/winter. The band is a bit wider than average, so it provides a bit of warmth, but it can be rolled up when you need more of a breeze. The material is really soft and not at all itchy on my sensitive skin.
Best of all, it keeps my crazy hair out of my face while running. It also wicks sweat well. I love this thing!

Comments about SmartWool Headband:
this little headband is amazing! i usually don't get enough ear protection from the cold in winter hats. they do however make my head really warm, which makes me break out a sweat. since i bought this headband i no longer use any winter hats. it's all i need to withstand the cold. my ears are warm all the time, even when it gets windy. and since the rest of my head isn't covered, i don't break out a sweat. and even if i do sweat, like on a run (this is my first winter as a serious outdoor runner), it wicks the perspiration away super fast. i'm never again wearing hats and will stick to this little guy forever!

Comments about SmartWool Headband:
I started with the SmartWool neck gaiter for a daily before-dawn exercise "boot camp". When winter came, my ears got chilly and the headband is now the crown of my SmartWool ensemble. It wicks away the sweat, keeps my ears and head warm even when wet, and stays put in the most grueling of exercises. Only bummer is it can't go in the dryer; so I'm getting a second one to rotate in.
