Comments about Thule Atlantis 1200 XT Roof Box:
Very easy to use. I could lift the item onto the SUV by myself and quickly tighten it. They key and carrier are very durable. We like how easy it is to open.
We went with this model because REI ran out of the larger Thule size we wanted. I like the design, as it is longer for ski and board equipment, but not "only" for those.
We took it out the first month on a 3 week trip to 2 family reunions and camping in the Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. It worked well.
It may take some time getting used to how to pack and store items. Remember this is the smaller size and doesn't fit everything!
One thing to also remember (and gave us some problems at first) is that you have to keep very clear where the clasp and locks are when closing the carrier. Otherwise they don't close (and you can't lock it ... which is a great feature).
Overall ... (very) satisfied!

Comments about Thule Atlantis 1200 XT Roof Box:
As outdoor lovers..My wife our doggy and I love this purchase and the room in this thing is awesome. We snowboard alot in the winter and this has been a blessing. We can carry 2 other friends in the car and the gear is on the roof to make for more room in the cabin of the car.
Love this thing!!
ps. The staff at REI were not to shabby either...So helpful!!!

Comments about Thule Atlantis 1200 XT Roof Box:
I bought this via the REI website after using Thule's configuration tool. They said it would fit my car. It doesn't, at least not with the factory bars. I am now in need of a Thule setup that will bring the crossbars forward so that it won't scrape the rear door when it comes up. It is already scraped due to discovering this right before a camping trip, and not being able to take it back and stop using it. The box itself is fantastic, but Thule's ocnfiguration tool is misleading and obviously incorrect as this box is not made for an Acura RDX at all. There are some other issues at hand that I won't discuss here with the pickup at the REI store, but nonetheless this will be costing me a bit more, and as such wasn't as good of a value as it could have been (and was).

Comments about Thule Atlantis 1200 XT Roof Box:
This roof box is so quiet, I thought it blew off! It is very lightweight to load on and off the vehicle which I need to do when entering my garage.
Service and delivery comments:
I arranged for a store delivery while in town for a basketball tournament, made a quickstop to pickup this box in between games, the gal at the counter helped me carry it out, I figured this thing out in no time and we were on our way.

Comments about Thule Atlantis 1200 XT Roof Box:
The REI salesperson recommended this carrier over a roof rack type. It was worth every penny if you want to keep your skis and gear protected from the road salt and from thieves. So easy to install and use. Forgot that it was even on top during the trip. No road noise at all. Light yet sturdy. Just perfect.

Comments about Thule Atlantis 1200 XT Roof Box:
I fitted the THule 1200 XT on my Audi A4 Avant 2011 and it fits perfectly so the rear hatch can fully open. It sticks out a little bit (5-10 inch) at the front, so this causes some extra drag. Small trade-off if you want to move ski-gear.
Very stable box and easy to install.
