Comments about Gripmaster Pro Hand Strengthener - Extra-Heavy Tension:

This thing is advertised all wrong. It doesn't help your grip become stronger so much as help induce better circulation before and after climbing. Nothing is worse then showing up to the first route or problem with fingers that feel like lazy sausages. The Gripmaster comes in real handy for those long drives home after thrashing yourself on the rock for a few hours or days. It helps your fingers recuperate faster so you can get back to training at the gym asap.
The best thing about this version above all others is that the fingertips of the Gripmaster pro are padded in rubber whereas in the other versions, they are just plastic. The rubber helps to grip it better and feels more comfortable.
Remember, if you are using this for climbing, squeeze this thing with your fingers flat so that your joints are level with the pads of your fingers (think of your fingers making an upside down 'L' and not a backwards 'C'. I see so many people using this the wrong way and complaining that it's too easy to squeeze. Remember, climbing is different then playing guitar.

Comments about Gripmaster Pro Hand Strengthener - Extra-Heavy Tension:

I am not a climber, but a tough guy. I can close the COC#2 eight times, I can do one handed pulls, and I can crush bottlecaps between my fingers. Let me tell you that there is nothing heavy about this. I returned it after I crushed it 100 times without getting tired (using crush, contact, and fingertip technique). I also gave it to my weak, obese friend, who closed it and laughed at it. This thing is for people with an average grip (100-120 lbs of force), not real athletes. It's really a disappointment and a joke. In sports and combat, especially climbing, your hands are your life, don't rely on this to get you anywhere!
