Comments about GSI Outdoors JavaGRIND Coffee Grinder:
The nub of a handle twisted off,and you cant screw it back on, and it helps hold it all together when storing it.Took it back to REI and the dude there said not to get a new one that they wouldnt replace it again if it happened again,so what ever happened to the exchange if a product fails or breaks with normal usage.wouldnt shop there if they didnt have that great policy

Comments about GSI Outdoors JavaGRIND Coffee Grinder:
Like the others before me, it is tough to use as it has a cone shape that hinders the ability to hold onto the grinder as you grind. Note that the grounds fall from the bottom, as I was not aware of this at the time of purchase (I thought the ground just chilled in the grinder 'til you were ready to brew). Also, I am not the conventional user of this piece. I bought the grinder because I am moving to rural Kenya, and needed a grinder for my french press. So, all in all, when using the grinder (as suggested above), take a seat, put the grinder between your knees, have a can or bowl just below the grinder (at your feet) and grind away! Happy brewing.

Amazing product! It just takes a while to figure out some of the different settings and tricks to use it that could easily make this an even easier sell.

Comments about GSI Outdoors JavaGRIND Coffee Grinder:
This is probably the best grinder you can find for the outdoors. Any other hand cranked coffee grinder is easily double the size of this. the shape can be a little awkward but can easily be overcome. The tiered shape of the bottom does help with stability in different sized containers. It is easy to use and grinds beans really well. It is not hard on your hands and grinds the beans pretty quickly.

Comments about GSI Outdoors JavaGRIND Coffee Grinder:
Bought this grinder to take camping so we could have freshly ground coffee. Haven't been camping yet but my boyfriend is now using it everyday to make his coffee rather than his electric one. Why?
The coffee made usingt GSI Coffee Grinder just tastes superior!
This will probably (actually it already is) for more than just camping.
Very happy with it.

Comments about GSI Outdoors JavaGRIND Coffee Grinder:
I hoped to replace my electric grinder, but I find that while it grinds quite well it is difficult to hold and crank at the same time. The diameter of the reservoir is too large for small to medium hands.
Service and delivery comments:
Delivery was quite prompt. The product was delivered in great condition.

Comments about GSI Outdoors JavaGRIND Coffee Grinder:
Great product. I bought it for camping and for military deployments. It is a fantastic little grinder, quite easy to use, and packs up small to I can thrown it in a backpack and bring it wherever I go!
Unfortunately, the handle broke very early in this deployment. The black portion of the handle came off. I'm definitely going to swap it out for a new one when I get home. I haven't seen this problem in any other reviews, so it was probably a fluke.

Comments about GSI Outdoors JavaGRIND Coffee Grinder:
Ok, so it's a bit unwieldy to use, but I've got big hands so it's not too difficult for me. I use this at home as my everyday grinder now, in addition to taking it backpacking. I love the consistency I get, and no dust. I happen to have the GSI java press as well, and it mates perfectly to it of course, but it also does quite well with my Bodum 1 cup home press. A nifty little gadget that I am quite happy I spent the [$] on.

Comments about GSI Outdoors JavaGRIND Coffee Grinder:
I looked at several hand grinders but settled on this one because it looked like it would do the job without failing. I was right. Initially I had a little trouble with stability, but found that if I grind into a cup that is the approximate size of the bottom, it is very stable. I have small hands, but I have no trouble holding it in place, by putting my hand over the top of it and pressing it onto the cup. Once the wingnut has been adjusted to the grind one likes, it doesn't need readjusting. I have now had this for a little less than a year, I have used it many times on various camping trips, and it shows no signs of wearing at all. There is something special about fresh ground coffee perking on a camp stove--it tends to draw other campers by for a chat!

Comments about GSI Outdoors JavaGRIND Coffee Grinder:
It was a long search to find a good, reasonably priced manual coffee grinder. It holds a fair amount of beans so you will not have to carry more if you are going away for a few days. It is a little unstable but if paired with the GSI press it fits just right. I would buy it again for a gift for someone else if I could.
