Comments about REI Adventures Pants - Men's 34" Inseam:
These pants fit the bill for travel and hiking. They are comfortable and presentable so you can leave your khakis at home. They hold up very well between washings. They have pockets for everything. They are the cat's meow for travel and hiking pants. Get a pair so you can see for yourself.

Zipper pockets provide extra security and I like leg pockets for ID or small billfold when traveling.

Comments about REI Adventures Pants - Men's 34" Inseam:
I had been looking for pants like this for a while, but this was the first pair I tried that felt like they fit properly. Great for the plane as well as daily use. Light, packable, with great pockets. The material and fit meant I slept great in them. My only complaint is how quickly they pick up lint and dirt (especially cat hair!).

I love the pants, I would like to see them in more colors. Black, Dark brown, Dark green etc...

Comments about REI Adventures Pants - Men's 34" Inseam:
After only a dozen wears and half a dozen launderings, the fabric on the seat is "pilling," coming apart and leaving little fabric balls. This is a symptom of poor material. I'm really disappointed because I like the pants so much otherwise.

Comments about REI Adventures Pants - Men's 34" Inseam:
It's a great product and fits nice and long for a 6'7" guy like myself. Would have thought I'd need the 36" length but 34 was perfect! One star removed due to the material pilling a bit after a couple washes. Hopefully they'll hold up long-term though.
I use these for rock climbing, hiking and just lounging.

Comments about REI Adventures Pants - Men's 34" Inseam:
I have a pair of these I bought last year. I like them so much, in color and fit and function, I bought another pair identical (so I thought). When I tried them on, I was unpleasantly surprised to find that the fit is really not like the old pair at all. They are a bit too tight up top and the legs are too generous and long.
I have read a number of recent posts that REI is changing a great number of their garments, apparently economizing. Seems this is a bad move.

Comments about REI Adventures Pants - Men's 34" Inseam:
I have beat the hell out of these pants and they only have 1 hole in them from a broken stick that punched right through them and luckily missed my calf. Can't fault the pants for that though.
They are pretty tough, dry quickly, have a loose fit through the crotch and legs.
They are definitely not warm or windproof in any way, so don't expect that. But they are good hiking/mountaineering pants for spring/fall adventures, or hiking through brush or tall grass. I would get something with zip-off legs for summer fun.

Comments about REI Adventures Pants - Men's 34" Inseam:
Bottom line, this is a good pant. I bought it for a 16 day backpacking trek in Nepal. It was my only pair of pants (though I didn't wear them every day). It performed well with no major complaints. No rips, tears, or other breakdowns.I bought the dark grey 'shadown' pant at my local REI after reading some reviews online. It was one of the only brands to offer 34" length, which was a deal cincher for me. The fit is true. The feel of the fabric is nice and soft versus some cheaper pants (Sahara included). The fit is a great cross between roomy and classy. I feel as comfortable wearing this out to a nice dinner as I do hiking all day in it. The pockets are great, especially the dual hidden pockets. The zippered back pockets are a nice touch. The zippered fly feels cheap (not rugged) and flimsy, I'm hoping it doesn't break soon. I like that the pants are lightweight but not super thin. After hand washing them they would almost completely dry overnight. The gusseted crotch is also key.I had no major problems with the pant and would recommend them to anyone. The downsides are the price- [$] aint cheap. And I missed having a zipper or similar for the pant legs. I found myself wearing the pants less often because it is almost impossible to take these pants on/off with your shoes/boots on. Getting hot and sweaty and stuck in long pants is a hiker's nightmare.
