The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about New England Glider Bi-Pattern 9.9mm x 70m Dry-Core Rope:
I have owned two ropes from the Glider series: a 60m 10.2, and a 70m 9.9. All around, these are ropes are fantastic. I bought the first one mainly because it had won the B.I.G award from Rock and Ice and I was persuaded by the reviews. I was not let down in any way. These ropes can take a good beating and give soft catches. My favorite characteristic, though, is the way the rope handles. The single weave lets it move quite easily both through belay devices and over stone. It also clips incredibly well. The rope is not stiff at all, but is also not mushy or limp feeling. It knots and really well, and after loads of abuse doesn't swell like most other ropes I've used. My 9.9 did kink a bit at the beginning but this is not uncommon for many ropes and I was using a Gri-gri at the time which probably contributed a bit to the kinkage. A couple long rappels and you're all set. Definitely a good purchase.

Comments about New England Glider Bi-Pattern 9.9mm x 70m Dry-Core Rope:
The bi-pattern and 70m gets this rope a strong hold in my arsenal, but i'll be a monkey's uncle if I ever take this thing cragging again. Had it for 2 yrs. Holds up great. Downside: guaranteed to kink and jam your gri-gri when cragging- i.e when lowering off your belay device.

Comments about New England Glider Bi-Pattern 9.9mm x 70m Dry-Core Rope:
Used extensively fort two and half seasons. It holds up great- it still looks relatively new after a few trims off the ends. Bi-pattern is amazing. It's very stiff and kinks constantly despite being full hung out on routes. With almost suspicious ease, it jams up your belay device when you most need to feed out rope. It works great for long trad routes, but terrible for cragging.

Comments about New England Glider Bi-Pattern 9.9mm x 70m Dry-Core Rope:
overall it is a very good rope. Glides well through pro as well as through rock crevices etc. Feels good in the hand when climbing or rappelling, and it is very easy to clip into pro. Is holding up well through numerous climbs at the local crags as well as lengthy multi pitch climbs. My only problem with the rope is that is continues to pigtail even after numerous climbs and rappels. It pigtails to the point that it can be a real hassle requiring an additional expenditure of time and effort to complete a climb. I would buy another one only if it was a great price.

Comments about New England Glider Bi-Pattern 9.9mm x 70m Dry-Core Rope:
I like this rope a lot. It feels great. I've climbed on it for a few months both inside and out and it has held up very nicely. I haven't had any issue like some other people have mentioned. It feeds very smooth and rarely pig tails. I get tons of compliments on it at the gym.

Comments about New England Glider Bi-Pattern 9.9mm x 70m Dry-Core Rope:
Awesome rope! Had it for a year now and has only very slight fray. The 70m length is great for linking pitches and extra distance for rappelling. This rope slithers like a snake and rarely gets stuck thanks to the stiffness and the slick texture of the sheath. Yes, the rope does pigtail a lot when new, but goes away after some use. I loved it so much that I had to buy another. Another plus is that they're made in the USA.

Comments about New England Glider Bi-Pattern 9.9mm x 70m Dry-Core Rope:
Many of the other reviews here seem to have a problem with the ropes durability. I have climbed extensively on this rope for over a season. Used it on sport routes with minor falls and sandy crack climbs in the Southwest. I have had absolutely no problems with the durability of this rope. In fact, I would say this is pretty darn durable for dragging through the nasty sandstone grit of Indian Creek. The elongation is awesome for soft falls and the bi-pattern/70meter factor makes it very versatile. If you question the ropes quality call the manufacturer and ask a bunch of questions. Sometimes ropes are mildly defective and can be returned. And the manufacturer definitely wants to see you happy with such an important peace of equipment. I personally think this rope is awesome. The only reason I don't give it a full 5 stars is because I haven't climbed on it enough yet. Maybe I'll update this in a couple years.

Comments about New England Glider Bi-Pattern 9.9mm x 70m Dry-Core Rope:
I picked this rope because if bicolor pattern. It has a transition that makes identifying the middle of the rope easy even when moving rapidly through anchors. The sheath has a slick "teflon" feel that makes it slide easily through pro--hence the glider name. It developed a huge sheath flaw the first or second day out, however, without any significant fall or known trauma. Perhaps should have returned it, but just retired it. Won't buy another.

Comments about New England Glider Bi-Pattern 9.9mm x 70m Dry-Core Rope:
At first I was very satisfied with the rope. It handles nice and looks great. However after only three uses and no falls, the core disconnected from the sheath and popped out of the end of the rope. I understand that this happens and you can fix it by re-cutting the rope. But it should not happen so quickly and under such moderate usage.
