Comments about GCI Outdoor Xpress Lounger Chair:
this review is based on just setting it up when i got it home. Sets up reasonably easy, comfortable to sit in,seems sturdy, the extra pockets will be handy for holding sunglasses, peanuts, phone etc. I wouldn't want to carry this a long way, it is heavy, so will be best for car camping or anywhere one can park the car close by.

Comments about GCI Outdoor Xpress Lounger Chair:
We use this for RV camping. It fits our limited storage space well and is comfortable to sit in. I had to super glue the Velcro tabs that hold the folded chair in place. Not a big deal, but for the price you shouldn't have to repair the item after the first use.

Comments about GCI Outdoor Xpress Lounger Chair:
This is as well built as a folding chair gets. It's STURDY and will LAST far longer than others in this category. This chair is HEAVY compared to most its size because it is made of a heavy gauge STEEL, not aluminum. This is NOT a backpacking chair. Who backpacks with a chair anyway?
The best attribute is that it folds down to a SMALL SIZE for transport or storage.
And did I say it's COMFORTABLE ? It's a good sitting height, not like the shorter ones that are hard to get up out of. The pockets are cool for things like drinks and cell phones. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for.

Comments about GCI Outdoor Xpress Lounger Chair:
I just bought this after trying everything at REI. It was 1/3 off sale, and that helped. This folds down to a slab that will be easy to pack on my motorcycle, rests on bars not pokey feet so won't sink in and lose the feet like other chairs, is strong steel that won't bend, warp, collapse. It sits high enough I an get up without undue strain and is overall more comfortable than the others they had on display. I'm 5'10" and would like to see the back rest raised up a couple inches for best comfort, so I'll probably add an extension if it will fold up right, but I can live with it as it is too.
There are thoughtful amenities that help make this even more convenient, like backpack straps on the bag as well as a top handle. The chair itself has a web handle to help extract it from the carry bag, or carry it without the bag. The mesh fabric lets you keep cool and dry, and the velcro'd pockets on the arms are handy for holding your stuff. The cup holder might be a bit shallow for tall bottles, but if you drop it and bend to get it, this chair isn't going to sink, bend, or collapse on you!
-1 star for not having picto directions sewn to chair for guidance.

Comments about GCI Outdoor Xpress Lounger Chair:
I had bad luck with another GCI chair, but decided to give them a try with this nifty fold up chair. It takes a little practice, but once you get the hang of it setup is a breeze. I wouldn't really call it comfortable, but it wasn't bad.
It had the same problem as the other GCI chair I had purchased. It was cheeply put together. Single stichings, shoddy workmanship, and started ripping before I had used it more than 10 times. Sad as I was hoping this one would work. I'll not buy GCI chairs ever again.

Comments about GCI Outdoor Xpress Lounger Chair:
I tried this chair x2. I didn't order it through REI, but as I was browsing for a chair just now I saw that REI sells it and people need to be warned about this chair.
Upon my first trial with it, the connection points for the chair arm broke - the chair can't be used without this since it all integrates. OK, I figured maybe I set it up wrong or the like so I contacted the retailer and got a replacement. I made sure I referenced a Youtube video before trying it again.
Upon the second trial the same exact piece broke and I was very, very careful to make sure I had secured everything in place correctly since there are a series of folds that are necessary to have the chair fully functional. The same exact connection point broke. I fall well, well, well within the weight limit of this chair, didn't plop into it or abuse it in any way.
I've tried other GCI products - absolute junk each and every time. If someone gave me a GCI product I would have to find a way to politely tell them that they might just as well have thrown their money out of a window.
If you do feel the need to try this chair out be sure that you don't have an elderly or rather frail person sit in this because there's a good chance that it will fail and have the potential for injury. There are many good chairs on the market that are less expensive and wholly reliable.
Junk, junk, junk...

Comments about GCI Outdoor Xpress Lounger Chair:
Broke within the first six hours of use. The plastic parts that hold the arms and back to the frame broke, then, within another hour, the frame itself broke (and I'm well within the rated weight range (190 lbs)). Maybe I just got a lemon, but I doubt it...

Comments about GCI Outdoor Xpress Lounger Chair:
This chair is a lifesaver. My wife had cancer surgury on her leg near the knee to remove a tumor. Needless to say the area on her leg is a problem with most chairs. This chair does not touch her leg the way every other chair out there seems to.
Aside from that it is compact and extremely durable. The cup holder and small stowaway pocket work great.
The weight isn't an issue for me since I'm always the packmule for hikes and backcountry trips. Some people may think it is a bit heavy.
All in all this is an awesome chair. The only folding chair I own now. Well actually I own 4 so the kids dont bug mom for her chair.
