Comments about Sea to Summit Folding Bucket - 10 Liters:
Took this bucket along on a Himalayan trek and was not disappointed. I was able to haul water with ease, wash and rinse clothes, and ultimately help my teammates throughout the trip. Cleans up and dries out easily. Packs light and tight. No problems at all, other than perhaps a bit more stability when filled (or half filled) with water would be appreciated.

Comments about Sea to Summit Folding Bucket - 10 Liters:
Great bucket that fills easily. "Full" capacity is really between half and 3/4s without risking tipping. It is thin, but sturdier than it looks. The ground needs to be very level. The fuller the bucket the more level it needs to be.

Comments about Sea to Summit Folding Bucket - 10 Liters:
Works well for retrieving water for later filtration at camp. It must be sitting on a nearly perfectly level surface in order to keep it from spilling when full.

Comments about Sea to Summit Folding Bucket - 10 Liters:
When placed on flat ground, the bucket tips over easily, spilling its contents. It seems strong and durable for transporting water from its source, but I need to hold the strap upright while I do any washing up which makes it quite cumbersome. I've seen others use a similar bucket that has a wire rim which works well but does not fold as compact. I would prefer the slightly bulkier bucket that works to this.

Comments about Sea to Summit Folding Bucket - 10 Liters:
While I typically try and pack super light I make room for this foldable bucket. It really makes putting out a campfire easy and safe. Great for having extra water around camp though if you overfill it will spill easily.

Comments about Sea to Summit Folding Bucket - 10 Liters:
We took this bucket into Utah's Escalante River canyon for five days of backcountry. We were camped on a hill above the river and this bucket made our lives much easier. I mainly used it so the dogs wouldn't run back into the river to get a drink after they were already dried off, but I would have no problem filtering water out of it. I found that as long as I could fill it in deep water I was able to get a full 10 L. The handles held just fine and I propped it up against a rock where it stayed all night as the dogs were drinking out of it. With its lightweight, compact size I'll never be in the backcountry without it.

Comments about Sea to Summit Folding Bucket - 10 Liters:
I bought this bucket for one thing, holding water that needs to be run through my H2O filter. To see how it worked, I took this bucket on a six day Grand Canyon backpacking trip and found it to be very useful for pumping the turbid water of the Colorado River. It's light, small, and easy to stow. Just fill it, hang it on a branch, put the intake for the H2O filter in the bucket, and pump water. If the water needed to settle with alum-no problem. After I was done pumping I would empty the bucket, dry it, and stow it in it's case.
Filling the bucket is a challenge at first. I would not fill it and hang it for long periods because the material saturates and I don't believe the handles would last, but I could be wrong about that.
This bucket is very light and isn't a substitute for a 5 gallon plastic bucket, but it is a superbly useful bucket for back country camping.

Comments about Sea to Summit Folding Bucket - 10 Liters:
This thing is fantastic! I have used it on several backpacking, canoeing and winter yurt trips. I got to the stream or lake and fill it with water, then head back to camp, let the sediment settle if needed, and pump water with my filter in the company of my traveling friends. It seems extremely sturdy, folds to a very small size and is very light weight. My travel companions have been impressed.
One downside is that it tend to be somewhat tippy when filled with water. One trick I have learned is to put a long stick through the handle and set the stick on the other side of a log or rock, wich serves to wrap the handle over the log/stick and hold the bucket upright. Just that little bit of upright tug works well to keep it from tipping.

Comments about Sea to Summit Folding Bucket - 10 Liters:
I love this bucket. I can go down to the water source and bring back 8 liters or so (10 liters is unrealistic since it isn't rigid). This allows me to purify water by my warm fire, cook with more of it, wash up with some more, and have some for the morning. I also use it to make sure that my fire is out.
This is a safety item if you do any backpacking or primitive camping in swamp areas where gators reside. You do not want to remember that you need water at dusk or after, and head down to the water to get a pan full. At 4.4 oz, you just cannot go wrong with having this bucket along.

Comments about Sea to Summit Folding Bucket - 10 Liters:
After 10 years, my 6L Platypus tank wore out on me. I thought I would give this a try after seeing the 10L capacity because I am usually camping with a group of 10 or more Boy Scouts. As noted in prior reviews, it will not hold 10L. With the flimsy rim, any lifting on the handle will disburse water. Also, I noticed that the handles are not strong enough to suspend a full bucket from a tree for too long. It was also very unstable when setting it on the ground and, as noted, tips very easy.
I will be going back to the new 6L Platypus Water Tank. This meets all my needs and I can fill the entire thing up full. It has sturdy handles to hang and you can even zip-lock the top closed after filling to carry to camp without sloshing water on your leg. The pack footprint for this tank is virtually imperceptible and while it may be 2 ounces heavier, it is well worth the weight.
