Comments about Alps Mountaineering Mojave Pack - Special Buy:
Since this is my first big pack I only have an opinion on this one but after doing a lot of research before my purchase I just couldn't pass up this deal. While it may be a bit heavier then the more expensive ones it still works beautifully. It is very comfortable and can fit a ton of supplies. The rain cover is a plus and I am very happy with this pack so far.

Comments about Alps Mountaineering Mojave Pack - Special Buy:
Alps Mountaineering is a good company that makes some great products with some of the best value you will find. However the Mojave has three issues. They use neoprene bottle pockets and the seams rip. The waist belt is hard to adjust and you have to have it perfect or it will lean to one side. Also the bottle pockets are designed so that you cannot reach the bottles with a full pack. Alps makes a much better pack for $10 more--the Denali 4500. The Denali is the same size but is better designed and has bigger, better pockets. Also---the bottle pockets are functional. The Denali is a great value---we took my wifes Mojave back after just two trips because of the ripped neoprene. Alps is a good company and I am sure they will fix this issue in the future.

This is a really good pack for the money and its awesome since you can strap a tent on and a sleeping pad on.

Comments about Alps Mountaineering Mojave Pack - Special Buy:
When this pack is fully loaded it rotated away from the shoulders, but the hip belt wouldn't hold the weight (kept slipping over the hips no matter how tightly it was adjusted). At one point my arms turned purple from restricted blood flow. Even after fitting and adjusting in the store, a complete re-adjustment on the trip couldn't make this pack work.
