Comments about REI Sub Kilo +15 Sleeping Bag - Women's Regular - '08 Overstock:
I have owned my sub-kilo for ?6+ years and spend about 20-30 nights out a year backpacking and occasional car camp. I usually sleep nude or with knee sox and am most often in the Pacific northwest. I can only think of 2 or 3 times when I was cold (and long underwear top would have fixed that but I was too tired to do it:)This includes waking up in the Wallowas in a foot of snow, and frosty nights in the Wind Rivers, the North Cascades, the Olympics and Yosemite. Over the years, I've gotten lighter and lighter gear inc a 17 oz tent and 3.5 lb pack but have not found anything as good as this sleeping bag for weight and cost. I have also gotten the foot of it wet a few times during stormy nights but it did not penetrate thru to the down. And I sleep on my side w/ my knees up and there is room in this bag to do this.I'm buying another one because it seems like sooner or later this bag will have to be replaced and I'm afraid it could get discontinued...and this price is incredible!

Comments about REI Sub Kilo +15 Sleeping Bag - Women's Regular - '08 Overstock:
This is an awesome bag if you are younger and slender. It's so LIGHT. The trouble for me is that I'm a size 16, which needs more hip width, and this bag is definitely for slender gals. That's a big reason why I'm not warm enough in it (because it's hard to zip and the down goes flat), plus at my age (over 50) I sleep cold. I'm going to invest in a warmer wider bag, but for younger and slimmer gals who don't have a problem keeping warm this is an awesome and LIGHT sleeping bag. So do watch for hip width, I never did before and it does matter.

Very light and comfortable in the 30 degree range. Do not think I would like to be in it at 20 or 15. Main problem are the feathers coming out. I am covered when I come out of it in the mornings

I took this bag up just a couple weeks ago for an overnighter at Camp Muir. Websites said it was about 10 degrees outside but I was warm. I didn't expect this given the 15 degree rating for the bag however, I did keep most of my warm clothes on while sleeping. I also stayed inside the open shelter which was slightly warmer than outside. I bought it for a Rainier summit this summer and am already impressed at the warmth for it's weight - and price! A great bag so far!

Comments about REI Sub Kilo +15 Sleeping Bag - Women's Regular - '08 Overstock:
I bought this for my wife and when it arrived I could tell it wasn't going to be warm enough, it has several inches less loft than my 15 degree marmot pinnacle. My wife liked the color and cost so she wanted to test it out before we returned it. So we went to Leavenworth for a weekend in April, the temp didn't drop below 30 and she couldn't stay warm, even with a down jacket on. She normally has a hard time staying warm, but this bag is obviously not a 15 degree bag if compared to Marmot.
If you need a lightweight summer bag this bag would be warm enough and light for 35+, maybe colder for warm people.

Just got my new REI Sub Kilo 15... Slept in it last night :-) The price is unbeatable. For a warm, ultralight bag, you can't find one at a better price. Going to be using this on my PCT thru-hike in 2011. Was worried from the reviews that it would be too narrow for me, but it's fine. I'm not slender and found the bag to be just right. It's not wide, but it's not THAT narrow. I like how it zips down all the way so I can use it as a quilt in SoCal.

Comments about REI Sub Kilo +15 Sleeping Bag - Women's Regular - '08 Overstock:
I have yet to test this in cold weather, but on a recent trip in Yosemite the bags worked perfect. I am a little skeptical that this is a 15° bag, but in temps around 35-40° the bag was more than warm enough. I have a warm bag for camping if it gets too cold and I rarely backpack when under freezing anyway.
This is the lightest weight bag I have ever owned and is perfect for fair weather backpacking, and you cannot beat the weight and size it compresses to save important weight and room while packing!

I snagged this bag after extensive research for a bag that would give me the most bang for my buck. I was not let down. Took that bad boy out to the Sierra's last weekend and it performed fabulously. Temperatures dropped in the 30's and i was burning hot in this bag with light clothing and this is given that im anemic and run FRrrRReeezing. Draft Collar really keeps that cold air out. I would recommend this bag to anyone!!

Comments about REI Sub Kilo +15 Sleeping Bag - Women's Regular - '08 Overstock:
I love how lightweight this sleeping bag is. It compresses down really small but it keeps me nice & warm. There is plenty of room on the inside of the bag for me to turn over & sleep on my side. The zippers stay zipped during the night, something that I've had trouble with with other sleeping bags. I highly recommend this sleeping bag. I'm really happy with my purchase.

Comments about REI Sub Kilo +15 Sleeping Bag - Women's Regular - '08 Overstock:
The Sub Kilo bag is a perfect bag for all sorts of camping. As a Colorado native I do a lot of backpacking; which includes a lot of fourteeners. Just recently I was on a 5 day camping trip and this bag was wonderful. it packs smaller than ever and is super lightweight. It even held up well after a down pour and getting very wet. The Sub Kilo seems to always keep me warm at night, which results in me never being cold! This bag is a beyond perfect bag and I recommend it to everyone. However if you are 5' 6" and up, I recommend getting the long version of the bag. I did and now my sister is sleeping in this bag. The long is just as perfect, just a bit more expensive. If you're looking for a comfortable, lightweight, backpacking bag, this is the one for you!
