Rated4out of5byAZ girl in WAfromGood bt not greatI like the boots, just wish there was more padding in it so I plan on trying out some Dr.Scholls to see if it helps. Also have noticed the grip is pooresp when wet or damp. All other aspects of the boot is great!

Rated4out of5byJohnKrfromGood fit, comfy, insoles could be betterTook these boots out for the first time this past weekend on an overnight backpack trip. 15 miles roundtrip with a 40lb pack. The boots felt great with no break-in required. Very comfortable. The boots are size 44 (10.5) and I normally wear 44.5 (11) so I was worried they might be too tight. They were snug with 2 pair of socks (liner + wool hikers) but not uncomfortable and after a few miles I actually cinched them up a little. If you have wide feet you might find these boots a little narrow. My only complaint (and thus the 4 star rating) is that the insole is kind of flimsy and near the end of the 2nd day of hiking the balls of my feet started to hurt. I may look to replace the stock insoles with something that has a bit more support. Also, these are lightweight boots. Great for day hikes and overnighters with a light load. However, I'm not sure they'd be the best boot for extended trips with a heavy pack.

Rated4out of5byHikerJoeMfromGreat bootsBreak-in time was short (less than 10 miles). I hike about 20 mi. a week, and these boots have been perfect. To clarify the check-boxes, I should say these are water resistant, but not waterproof - they'll soak thru after 5 miles in wet grass, mud, etc. Not a gripe - about what you'd expect with a gore-tex material. Overall, great buy.

Rated5out of5byColorado DadfromGreat boots - right out of the box!I bought these boots because they were lightweight and waterproof. I bought them about 1/2 a size larger than my normal shoe because they felt better around the toe box - probably because of the thicker socks. These boots were ready to go right out of the box! No break-in period at all; they felt great! I took them on a week-long summer camp with the Boy Scouts and I walked everywhere on them including a hike up past 9,300 feet and there was never any pinching or hot spots. Even after all that walking, my feet felt great. The trails were mostly easy but there were one or two harsher spots and these boots had great traction the whole time. Have not had a chance to test the waterproof-ness yet but I expect that will happen at Philmont next summer. This boot is exactly what I wanted: lightweight, waterproof, sturdy, no break in period, and reasonably priced. What more could I ask for? This is a great boot!

Rated4out of5byrreiningfromGreat dry hikers--poor wet tractionI generally like these boots a lot. They were comfortable from the gitgo. Good support and protection from stones while being flexible. My only complaint is poor traction in wet conditions. The sole compound slips right off wet rocks that my otherwise less competent shoes provided reasonable traction on.

Rated1out of5bygurlfriday247fromNot durable - fell apart after 30 milesBought these boots for my son's Philmont trip. Materials ripped apart (sides and back) about 30 miles into the 80 mile trek. The rips/tears occurred around the "zig-zag" area of the design and across the back above the heel. He is about 5'8" 130 lbs and carried about 45 pounds of pack. Nothing his old Merrell's (which he grew out of) couldn't handle during the ramp-up hikes. We are going back to Merrell's.

Rated5out of5byahwroefromPerfect fit!I bought these last minute before a three day hike on the Appalachian Trail. I expected blisters, hiking in brand new boots with a 40lb pack through the mountains. Day one was 20 miles from Caledonia State Park to Pine Grove Furnace. My feet were perfect except for a very minor hotspot on the inside of my left heel.
These boots remained comfortable throughout the three days on the trail.and countless other hikes since. They are very light weight and remained true to being waterproof through some puddles/creeks.
I am very happy with these boots and will probably stick with the brand from here on out for my all-around boot.
