The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Minoura W-3100 Bike Repair Stand with Tool Tray:
Purchased for garage/home mechanic work. Was hoping for more stable base, the legs aren't nearly big enough to support a bike that is held by the seat post and not the top tube. Good clamp design for quick and efficient mount/dismount onto stand.
If you plan on clamping via the seat post, expect a hassle keeping it from falling when working on the front of your bike.

Comments about Minoura W-3100 Bike Repair Stand with Tool Tray:
It is simple: fixed height, one-handed clamp, notched rotation with adjustable friction. All stressed parts are metal, with rubber cushions on the clamp jaws. The tool holder is a big plus for me. I am 5'9' tall and the fixed height clamp pivots at 55", just about perfect shoulder height. It holds my 15kg bike very firmly by seat tube or seat post, and the clamp jaws open wide for fat down tubes or top tubes. The pedals stay clear of the post and tool tray. It looks pretty nice too; when not holding a bike it could be left in the (frat house) living room as a coatrack, with keys or a "beverage" in the tool tray.

Comments about Minoura W-3100 Bike Repair Stand with Tool Tray:
Everything I read about this repair stand was excellent, so I picked one up at the San Diego/Copley Drive store. I preferred building mine without the tool tray attached only because my tool chest is able to roll around the garage floor and camp out right next to wherever I'm working. The clamp is ridiculously sweet, locks nicely, and holds our hybrid bikes wonderfully. Do I really need a height adjustment? Not for our bikes luckily, but it would be a nice addition. Best bike stand I've ever had.

Comments about Minoura W-3100 Bike Repair Stand with Tool Tray:
This is a solidly built and very stable repair stand. The clamp jaws use a lever-lock mechanism (like Vice-Grips basically)that rotate in a gear clutch for positive rock-stable lockup at 15 degree increments. This is way easier to use and more solid than the turn-screw clamps. The only negatives are: 1) not lightweight (but stability comes at a price, and it's not a boat anchor; and,
2) no height adjustment. However, it's easy to modify the stand to allow for height adjustment. All you need to do is drill some additional holes in the lower frame below the upper pillar holding bolt to provide for additional height positions. Probably voids the warrantee, but this unit is so well made I doubt you'll have any problems.

Comments about Minoura W-3100 Bike Repair Stand with Tool Tray:
I bought this bike stand because I wanted to be able to service our bikes most effectively at home. I love that it has a tool tray, it's handy to have quick access to the tools I'm using for specific tasks. It very sturdy and stable and if you adjust the legs right (not too tight), once you lift the stand, they just fold in nicely. I also love the ability to rotate the frame grip (although I hardly ever use it, other than horizontal). Overall very well made product with a professional finish.
Service and delivery comments:
Delivery was fast. I live in the Caribbean so had the stand dropshipped to my skybox in Miami. I was surprised when the courier showed up not even a week after I had ordered.

Comments about Minoura W-3100 Bike Repair Stand with Tool Tray:
Very nicely made. The design puts the support under the weight, without a leg uselessly sticking far out the back. Assembles easily with two Allen head bolts. Upper column locks with same size Allen screw, which is used on MTB studs. (5mm?)
The tilt adjustment has a nice friction adjustment, as well as a quick release positive lock. The clamp adjusts and locks with one hand.
I will probably modify the mid-column joint at some point to add a height adjustment, but will use it a bit more to see if this is a real issue...we'll see.
One thing not mentioned in the description, nor even in the instructions is that this stand breaks down into a fairly compact L shape for storage or transport:
-Remove the upper column and tool tray.
-Insert the upper column into the _bottom_ of the lower column. (between the legs
-Fold the legs inward which will hold the upper column in place.
Thus folded, it is not as compact as most of the "portable" stands, but will allow it to fit in a car trunk, or a small closet. Can be set up in under a minute, and is sturdier than the more portable models.
