Comments about Polar FlowLink Data Transfer Unit:
My wife and I both have the Polar FT7 monitors, so she bought this unit so we can download our data and track our exercise. She installed the software on her laptop (PC) and I installed it on my office PC. She mentioned that you must install the software first before you ever plug it into USB, so that is what I did and it has worked flawlessly. I have 2 dive computer watches that have download capabilities and I wish they worked as well as this one. The best feature is that you simply set the watch on top of the unit and it automatically starts the process... no holding a clip up to contacts or other chores like my dive computers. This thing works great!!

Comments about Polar FlowLink Data Transfer Unit:
If you're planning on loading your training data onto your computer, choose a different product. I chose my Polar FT7 because the price was decent and I planned to purchase the FlowLink later to load my data on the computer. The entire experience was an exercise in frustration.
I had to return my FT7 after one week because the heart rate monitor stopped working. The second one worked fine. Then I spent an hour trying to load the data on my computer with the FlowLink and it still does not work. The instructions, technical support and users manual on the web site were not helpful. They all referred to a button and menu options that simply did not exist.
I teach computer programming and robotics and I could not get this to work. I recommend purchasing a heart rate monitor that has the computer link built in. It will be worth the extra money.

Comments about Polar FlowLink Data Transfer Unit:
I bought this to go with FT40 Polar Heart Rate Monitor. Bought the FT40 rather than F07 because I thought it would work better with FlowLink. Got flowlink to work 1 time. Maybe the software would be better suited to pc than to my mac; maybe my unit was faulty. In any event, I've wasted too much time on it and back it goes. Considering returning FT40 for less expensive F07 as can't see the advantage of the extra $$$ if I can't do auto data download.

Down load web sync before you do anything else and Flowlink will work perfectly out of the package. REI.com said it was an online product only. My store had it in stock. Nice!

Comments about Polar FlowLink Data Transfer Unit:
The FlowLink transfers data very fast, easily, and efficiently. Thankfully, this is exactly what I bought it to do.
I use this unit with my polar FT7 heart rate monitor. I workout doing cardio at the gym 3 or more times a week, and use the Flow Link to upload my sessions to a free online service polar provides.
I agree with one of the other comments that said the website that Polar provides has limited features. However, it is free, after all. Additionally, I simply find it motivational to track and record my progress. They also have some nifty charts and graphs. FYI: You can even check it out before you buy the product by going to their website and signing up. Moreover, I think you can also use their website without even owning a Polar product, that is, if you want to enter your training data manually.

Comments about Polar FlowLink Data Transfer Unit:
This thing worked first time, right out of the box. The Polar website has limited usefulness, but it is nice to track your workouts. Download latest software from Polar before you plug this in and you will be fine. I was using Windows Vista 64 bit. I currently have a FT40, but the upper level watches allow data transfer BOTH ways, so you can download workouts to your watch, which would be nice. I can't see how this got a one star review before this one...

Comments about Polar FlowLink Data Transfer Unit:
I have a Polar FT 40 heart monitor and wanted to down load the data, so put the Flowlink on my Christmas wish list. I have wasted hours trying to get it to work without sucess. The data has to be saved on the Polar website which is very quirky. Once registered it repeatedly failed to recognize my email or password. I am very frustrated and plan to return both the watch and Flowlink and try something else.
