The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Pelican Micro Case 1010 with Carabiner:
It works great to hold a small survival kit. It has been in the water on multiple occasions and never leaked. It is a little bit on the heavy side, but, it is worth it to get the waterproofness. I love knowing that my stuff will be dry.

It kept my camera (Panasonic Lumix) dry through 160 Grand Canyon rapids, so I can't complain! I hooked the case to a D-ring in the raft and forgot about it. Perfect Product!

Comments about Pelican Micro Case 1010 with Carabiner:
I have used one of these on the deck of my sea kayak for some time now to hold my Panasonic Lumix point and shoot. I've paddled about 600 miles with this setup and it did fine even in some rough water, shrugging off splashes and waves over the deck. On a recent crossing straight into a steep 3' chop however, I arrived at the far side to find about 2 tablespoons of saltwater inside the case and my camera thoroughly dead. I checked for sand or pebbles at the point where the lid rim engages the seal but found none, so I can only conclude that it does not take a large amount of water pressure, even from splashing, to compromise the case.
It's a shame because the size is truly perfect for point and shoot digital cameras, and it probably would not take much additional engineering to make it more splash proof. The latch is easy to work with one hand, and being able to pull the rubber liner out to clean the case is great. I will still use the case due to its convenience, but I won't trust it in any sort of seas again. Rain and light splashes are ok, but nothing more. I would still recommend the case for crush resistance and ease of use.

Comments about Pelican Micro Case 1010 with Carabiner:
We needed a dry case for use with our new Panasonic Lumix DMZ-ZS8 Camera. Fits like a glove, no rattles, as though the case was made for the camera. I did put a thin piece of mole skin on the bottom to reduce any risk of the LCD screen picking up any rub marks/scratches from the rubberized padding just in case. The case fits easily within the kayak storage bin for small items within reach.

Purchased the 1010 case based on a review that it would accept the iphone 4. It will not! Looks like a quality box so I am ordering the next size up.

Comments about Pelican Micro Case 1010 with Carabiner:
I use this case to keep cameras, cell phones, and small electronic devices safe. It can hold two compact digital cameras. I just checked, and it fits my iPhone 4 in its Otterbox Defender case and holster like it was made for it. This is good news for my next trip to a mountain or pool.
I've had this case for about four years now, and I use it at least twice a month. It's been to beaches, on rainy hikes, and been used by my kids to keep dollhouse toys. After all that, it works as great as it did the day I got it.

I am bringing this on lake superior, and totally trust it for my camera.
It has a wonderful padding system that is rubber, and the over all construction is the very durable.

Comments about Pelican Micro Case 1010 with Carabiner:
This case is great. It's easy to open and attaches to clothing, life jackets, waterbottles, etc easily for sudden must-have photo ops. Perfect for me on my last canoeing trip. Never let a drop of moisture into my camera but kept it nice and handy for when a sudden muskox would appear from around the bend in the river and I just had to snap a shot.
Protection is unmatched. I took a dump in my canoe on some class 3/4 rapids in the middle of a canyon section of the river. Not only did this case stay attached to my boat down the entire 1 mile set without me, but my camera was bone dry at the end and protected even though I know it hit quite a few rocks and probably took an extreme beating (as evidenced by the rest of my gear). After dumping, I thought for sure my brand-new Nikon was toast. Thank god for pelican! And I almost hadn't bought it before the trip!
Worth every penny. I don't know a single professional whitewater canoer or kayaker who doesn't have at least one pelican case.

Comments about Pelican Micro Case 1010 with Carabiner:
This case has replaced my soft camera case for ski trips, hiking, and basic traveling.
The case fits my coolpix 7600 perfectly, no rattling and no crushing. If you have a thinner camera, it will fit with a cell phone, or you might want to add some padding to reduce rattling. Great if you are someone who falls often, or you want to just toss the item into a pack without thinking.
I've had mine for about 1.5 years and, with the exceptions of some superficial scratches, it is the same as new.

Comments about Pelican Micro Case 1010 with Carabiner:
I used this case on many hikes and overnight camping trips. It is durable enough that you can put it in your pack and not have to worry about it getting smashed when you put your pack on the ground. I totally, 100% recommend buying the product but the thing I would advise is to buy it in person rather than online.
