Comments about REI Camp Bed 3.5 Self-Inflating Pad:
We took these on a car camping trip to four different National Parks. These made it feel as close to home sleeping as anything I have ever used. Wonderful!!!

Comments about REI Camp Bed 3.5 Self-Inflating Pad:
when it held air, it was very cushy and comfortable. however, after a couple of uses, i'd wake up because it'd lost air. the valves were ridiculously difficult to tell if they were opened or closed. i thought it was just a case of not realizing they were open. after 2 more nights on the river, with travel-mates (all of us experienced in dealing with camping gear) also confirming they were closed and waking up to discomfort, i gave up. i should give up on inflatables altogether - this is the third return in a year. last time the nice woman at the REI counter saw me walking up and said, "oh - we return a lot of these." clearly the industry needs to bump up its standards and REI needs to bump its standards of what makes it into its store.

Comments about REI Camp Bed 3.5 Self-Inflating Pad:
Bought this camping pad for my husband, but decided to try it out myself first while sleeping under the stars in Moab, UT. This pad is COMFY! It is huge, for big +/or tall people, but rolls up small enough to stow in my Jeep. (but too big for backpacking) It eventually fully inflates on its own, but because I am impatient, I blew into the nozzles to hurry things up. The 2 nozzles are well-designed, snap closed and do not leak. Great thickness: I slept like a baby!

Comments about REI Camp Bed 3.5 Self-Inflating Pad:
I initially purchased the 2.5" XL REI pad and I enjoyed it a lot...Until I tired out the 3.5" in the store. This thing is so comfy its obcene.
The bag is very generously sized, I would have to try to not make it fit.
Pad inflates well, insulates well, and is oh so cushy!
Cons.. yeah its big and heavy. I'm taking it back packing again soon I know i'll hate it for that, but since I mostly car camp it was the way to go.

Comments about REI Camp Bed 3.5 Self-Inflating Pad:
I sleep in my truck at horse shows, and needed a comfortable pad for my REI sleeping bag to nest on. This was easy to blow up, stayed inflated over 4 nights, and was very comfy, especially as I'm a stomach sleeper which is never comfy when camping! Its pretty long, so took up the length of my truck.

Comments about REI Camp Bed 3.5 Self-Inflating Pad:
Once a year, Henry Coe State Park permits cars into the back country. I used this sleeping pad during the trip. One pitches one's tent on whatever ground one finds. I never felt a bump. The night temperatures got down to mid-40s; with this pad and my Marmot sleeping bag, I was super toasty. Earlier reviews discussed difficulties in stuffing this back in the bag after use. I had no such problems.

Comments about REI Camp Bed 3.5 Self-Inflating Pad:
I love this product. I have used it a total of 10 times and it was easy to use and comfortable. I have a bad back and needed something to Pad my cot when camping and this worked perfectly. It is a little big for packing into isolated camp sights but for a base camp that is short distance it is fine.

Comments about REI Camp Bed 3.5 Self-Inflating Pad:
Definitely my favorite car camping pad. Super easy self-inflate and incredibly comfortable. A bit pricier than other options but WAY longer lasting than any other air mattress and much more comfortable than any other sleeping pad.

Comments about REI Camp Bed 3.5 Self-Inflating Pad:
I had been using a inflatable large mattress. This is more comfortable, more portable, and convenient. Love it.

Comments about REI Camp Bed 3.5 Self-Inflating Pad:
I've taken this car camping which its most appropriate for considering is bulky size. A thousand times better than any department store air mattress but for one at the cost of about three of the cheapies. This seems to be built to last and is so comfortable. I'm a larger guy and this pad didn't even flinch with my weight. Thank you REI.
