Comments about CatEye Strada Double Wireless Bike Computer:
I purchased this product early in my cycling experience because it does provide good bang for the buck. It is packed with features for the price, but as many say it is challenging to read. You can usually see your speed fine but your mode (cadence, total distance, etc.) can be hard to see, and because you have so many modes, flipping through on a ride is hard. Taking your eyes off the road for so long is not a good idea! Over all it was easy to install; however, if you don't have nice circular tubing on your rear fork this can be a bit of challenge to install the sensor. If you aren't at least a bit of a DIYer avoid this if you have rectangular tubing. I will be upgrading to a fuller featured model, but it is a good product for causal or beginner cyclists. If you are serious about moving up or an advanced rider, move on to a better PC

Comments about CatEye Strada Double Wireless Bike Computer:
I actually bought 2 to replace my aging Cateye Solar IIs. Both go on century or longer bikes.
Mounting was pretty easy as computers go. Wireless is nice, except I had to relocate my headlight, which is a 2A tactical light. When on high the computer would lose the sensor signal. Moving the light to the other side of the bars solved that problem. Seems to work fine otherwise and seems accurate.
The dual sensor pick-up is pretty large, and takes some effort to line up with both sensors. I'm not a big nylon tie fan, but it hasn't fallen off or got bumped yet.
I would rather have two function buttons on the unit to save scrolling through all the functions ('course my old solar II had 4 buttons). It would be nice to have the option of not stopping the timer when the bike stops. I could never understand why your stops shouldn't count. I guess you can still overall time it by noting the time you start.
Overall a nice unit. The usual sucky cateye instruction sheet.

Comments about CatEye Strada Double Wireless Bike Computer:
I bought this computer because I wanted one with cadence to see how well I was pedaling without breaking the bank. Overall a good computer. It's easy to set up, read and use. I dropped the bike once and it's stayed working. The biggest drawback is the distance of the sensor on the bike between the pedal cadence and speed magnets takes some fidgeting to get it working correctly. I've accidentally bumped (not lightly) the sensor on the bike with my foot, preventing the cadence from being read. After I adjusted the sensor on the bike that I hit with my foot, it started working again.

Comments about CatEye Strada Double Wireless Bike Computer:
Purchased this in June 2009 to go with a new bike. Had used wired Cateye's before for triathlons, and knew the value of cadence. Wanted something that was small and simple.
This was one of only a couple of small devices that was wireless and had both cadence and speed. At first I thought the price was high, but the durability has more than paid off.
The instructions are not very clear, and setting up the first time can be frustrating, since it doesn't always lock onto the id code the sensor sends out. Once it is set, it just plain works. It is very accurate, and switching between functions couldn't be easier. It gives you all that you need, and nothing that you can't live without, or would have to pay a lot more for.
The mounting bracket for the head unit can be set up to go on the handle bar, but if you turn the insert 90 degrees you can mount it on the stem, centered, and it gives you back the bar space, and looks very clean (or pro).
The single pickup unit mounts just fine to most chain stays, but on frames that have aggressively shaped carbon chain stays, it can be very difficult to get the pickups on both the crank and the wheel in the proper relation to one another. The unit installed fine on my Scott Addict, but was a devil to install on my friends Bianchi Infinito (although I finally got it to work, I needed to very carefully adjust the angles, and use more substantial zip ties).
(Pro-tip: on Shimano cranks, you can install the cadence magnet in the recess hole that the pedals mount into. You don't need to zip tie it. I've ridden mine like that for over 3000 miles, and it has never come off. It also allows you to slide the sensor unit further back on the chain stay where the shape normalizes and gets you that much closer to the spokes to pickup the wheel magnet.)
Having the sensor on the rear wheel also means that when the bike is on a trainer the unit can still give cadence and speed, something you cannot do if the wheel pickup is on the front.
Battery life is about a year or 1500 - 1800 miles of riding. The unit is very durable. but after three years of pushing on the face most of the lettering has worn off. Scratches in the display can be easy fixed with a product called Polywatch, that polishes them out.

Comments about CatEye Strada Double Wireless Bike Computer:
Set up the Cateye and had limited success with the zip tie attachment on the frame. The sensor did not like to stay in one place, causing it to miss the magnet. Due to the size of the frame tube, and the angle required to read both the crank magnet AND the magnet on the spokes, could never get both to work together...gave up on cadence after a while, just wanted the basics...after a while could not even get this. Had to replace battery after just one year - this was a fiasco and was not successful in reviving the unit with a new battery.

Comments about CatEye Strada Double Wireless Bike Computer:
Very unreliable. Purchased a unit on 9/26/11. First ride the unit worked fine. Second and third rides it worked intermittently - dropping thirty minutes during a two hour ride. Replaced with a second unit on 9/30/11. First ride the unit worked fine. Next three rides it worked intermittently - dropping thirty minutes to one hour. My previous Cateye, wired, worked fine for 40,000 miles. I have gone back to a wired unit. Not as clean looking but at least it is dependable.

Comments about CatEye Strada Double Wireless Bike Computer:
I am just getting back into biking and needed a computer with basic features plus cadence. The unit is easy to install (see tip for modern bikes below) and to operate. The Cateye website has a video tutorial that I found useful before starting.
My wife has a Specialized Ruby and there isn't room for the sensor and magnet on the left side as suggested. I tried a tip from an online biking forum and mounted the magnet on the FAR spoke within a few inches of the rim. This allowed me to mount the speed sensor as designed facing down. It's worked fine for me so far.

Comments about CatEye Strada Double Wireless Bike Computer:
Initial install is a bit frustrating especially if you have wide chain stay like many of the newer carbon frames. Directions are poor - the speed sensor can be pointed up instead of down below the stay - this was the only way I could get both the cadence and speed sensors properly aligned on my bike. After that however this little computer has been great. I like the stem mount instead of on the bars and the one touch control works great for me. Does what I need it to do. Seems very accurate. I mostly keep the bottom display on cadence and occasionally check trip OD. I like to mostly focus on riding and not spend all my time fiddling and staring at my computer. Nice to check out the data after the ride. Simple, small and functional. Hard to beat the price for a wireless with cadence.

Comments about CatEye Strada Double Wireless Bike Computer:
Put the small parts in a bowl till you need them. The mode button is used to change the digit, then you hold it down to jump to the next digit on the wheel size setup. The directions are in Engrish, which means they are written fairly poorly for comprehension. They include pictures but when will manufacturers realize that including eight different languages to all isn't better, just confusing. The battery is already in the sensor, what looks like a battery is actually the magnets for the crank and the spoke. If you try to open the battery door on the sensor, use the biggest screwdriver you can find. Trying to use a quarter will just mar the surface. Turn to the left to open it up, then you must use a really small screwdriver to pop that battery door off. The sensors are installed on the spoke and the crank and they want a 3 and 5 millimeter separation. Good luck on the exact measurement. The whole sensor thing just looks scary close to my shoe coming round and the wheel! Zip tieing the whole thing together after that seems like something that would be done on a prototype rather than the actual production units.

Comments about CatEye Strada Double Wireless Bike Computer:
I got this computer to replace my wired computer. I wanted a wireless computer with cadence. I found this and picked it up. The computer has worked flawlessly so far.
I love the cadence and that it has two trip odometers.
The secondary reading is a little small, but I don't really stare at the computer when I ride. If you do, then focus on your ride and not the computer. =)
