First thing I did when I got these was to clean them, fill them to capacity the drop them on a hard surface. Boing....still working, no leaks. Good to go.

This water bottle is bulletproof, nothing can stop it! I used to have an Eddy Camelbak but then that broke, it was a good water bottle but it was no where near as good as this one is! I now have 4 of them and they're all awesome!

I agree with all the good comments about this product. However, it took me ten minutes each to remove the labels on the two bottles I bought. I first used Goo Gone, then wiped as well as I could, then washed four times with a citrus-based soap, then re-applied the Goo Gone and wash another three times with the soap before all the gooey mess was gone. Really?!!!

I purchased 6 of these in a variety of colors for a camping/hiking trip. They easily clipped via carabiner without stressing the lid. They have a nice wide mouth for easy refill and cleaning. There were a few times that one of them was dropped on various surfaces. Mine hit the asphalt while full. I was sure when I picked it up there would be at least a crack. NOT! None of them cracked, leaked, etc. Well done REI!

This bottle rocks! I use it all day at home, the gym and on the trail. It does a good job keeping a cool beverage cool and it's really tough.
The wide mouth makes it a breeze to fill up at a stream. This is especially handy if you use the Sawyer Squeeze Water Filter because that can be a little difficult to fill. So I fill up my Nalgene, pour it into the filter and filter out into my camelbak. Takes maybe 3 or 4 minutes to have 64 ounces of filtered water and get back on the trail.

My boyfriend has this wide-mouth version, which we shared during our most recent backpacking trip. Right after purchasing, I just rinsed it out and we began using it - I did not notice any plastic taste. We did use some Nuun tabs in this bottle during the trip, which the plastic held onto the taste of for about a week of constant use.
It easily fits into the side bottle pocket of our packs, and makes for a great auxiliary source of water after making camp. The "lid leash" is a great feature; you cannot lose your cap. The large opening makes it super easy to use with a water filter - ours actually has an attachment designed to fit.
The only downside to this bottle is because the opening is HUGE, drinking while hiking can be a tad problematic. I used this for a while after the trip too, taking it to work and school, and had similar problems trying to drink while driving or walking. One could argue just not to do that, but whatever.
I went back to REI and bought myself the narrow-mouthed bottle... same bottle, different opening, no drinking problems (:
