The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Ultimate Survival Technologies SaberCut Saw:
This saw works nothing like the video. You get about 10 strokes in and the blade gets jammed. I was only cutting birch and pine. It's best if you have 2 people on each side of the dead standing tree keeping the blade straight with each stroke. Now when it comes to an already down tree/log you need 3 people, 2 people to saw and 1 to hold down the log. Going to return this saw ASAP!

Comments about Ultimate Survival Technologies SaberCut Saw:
This thing works amazingly beautiful if you have a partner...its a little more difficult and harder on your body if you have to hunch over a log and work both sides of it. This is obviously not going to cut as well as a nice bow-saw...but the whole reason you'd be using this would be because you need something light & compact that cuts wood. A bow-saw does not fit those objectives but this tool is a 100% match. Great product!

Comments about Ultimate Survival Technologies SaberCut Saw:
The SaberCut saw is the best backpacking saw I've seen. It's light, compact, easy to re-sharpen (with a standard chainsaw file) and cuts extremely well. I've taken it along on a number of backpacking trips and was never disappointed with its performance. This saw tears through logs like a real chainsaw, albeit one powered by muscle. I've used this saw to cut through 10-inch hardwood and it performed superbly.
The saw has one minor drawback -- if you use it without gloves, the nylon straps will tear up your hands. It's not pleasant to be missing skin on your hands when you're backpacking. Any sort of work glove, or even a couple of carefully-folded bandanas, however, should protect your hands. Besides, anyone processing wood while camping should wear gloves.
Otherwise, the saw is light, extremely durable, comes with a nice nylon pouch, and packs down small enough to carry in your pocket.

Comments about Ultimate Survival Technologies SaberCut Saw:
This saw does what I expected it to do..... cut wood. I cut through a softball diameter log ( ash tree) in about 4-5 minutes. I'm a pretty strong teenager but after I got done with that log my back felt like water, and believe me I dont wimp out very easily.
If you attach ropes to each handle it works great for cutting branches that are out of reach ( i.e. clearing shooting lanes for hunting)
The multi-angle cutting is impossible. You have to cut striaght up & down other wise it binds up on you.
All in all this is a great saw. But I like it best because it stores so small and light.

The saw would not cut through the logs! I would have a fine time starting to cut into the logs but then the saw would just stop cutting. I returned this item.

Myself and a couple of friends used this nice little tool to cut up 14" logs. Although it was a very good workout, it was nice to have the logs cut up into manageable sizes.
My only complaint was the grips for your hands seemed to be a bit smaller than i would have liked.

Comments about Ultimate Survival Technologies SaberCut Saw:
I've taken the product on one trip thus far. Between when I got it and now, I've cut through limbs between 6 and 14 inches in diameter. I'm sure you could go bigger if you had the muscles and the patience.
The thing cuts well. Sometimes it gets caught, but that's usually only with wet wood. Otherwise, its pretty sure. The thing produces small woodchips like a real chainsaw, which I think is pretty cool. Makes me feel like a real man. The end result of each cut is typically a nice smooth edge, as if cut by a real chainsaw. It is really easy to use, and storing it/packing it around with you is even easier. It's really lightweight, which makes it ideal over a hatchet or axe if you're gonna pack.
Cons: If it were ultra sharp, like diamond tipped, that would be sweet, but its not. It gets caught on wet wood sometimes. The handle design is lightweight, which sacrifices comfort. You can get a decently comfortable grip on the thing while you're sawing, but you'll probably end up with blisters until you develop some calluses. It also can't split wood lengthwise, which is why you should bring an axe if you need to do that...
Overall, I'd say its worth it. Definitely worth it. A very good product that I think will only improve as it becomes more popular. And its a genius idea.

Comments about Ultimate Survival Technologies SaberCut Saw:
Well, after only 2 camping trips, this thing seems to be worth the money. I'm still waiting on the longevity thing (which is why I didn't give it 5 stars, cause I just don't know), but I can only praise it for what it has done for me thus far. I've been able to saw through 10-14" tree limbs and trunks with relative ease. You conserve some wood for the fire by avoiding the whole axe-out-the-middle thing and it really goes by pretty quickly considering how long you typically take to axe a log in half. The only thing it can't do is chop a log into quarters the long way. You'd be silly to try that. Keep the axe on hand, but take this sucka for the first cut.
I included the whole works your back thing as a pro and con because depending on how you look at it, it could be either. I mean, I'm happy that my back is now more muscular and stronger for having used this thing. But I wasn't happy when I was sore the next day.
The straps aren't particularly ergonomic, but they are comfortable for their simple design. They cause blisters after the first several times of using until you build some calluses.
Hands down, I'd buy this again. Get it. Pack it. Hack it.
