Comments about Osprey Veer Vertical Shoulder Bag:
I'd used the larger version, the Warp, for years and loved it while biking to class. After graduation it carries my keys, wallet, hat, gloves, spare eyeglasses, etc.
I bought this smaller Veer simply because it was on sale and after daily use for over 3 years the Warp was finally showing it's age. I hate keeping my wallet in my back pocket and this bag system solves that problem well. I've added an S-Biner to the front strap attachment to hang my car keys on, while the outer pocket has its own clip for keeping my house and other keys on. I have simply never misplaced my keys using this system and sometimes I will carry this bag with nothing else in it as an oversized key chain. I know it sounds funny, but it has entirely eliminated misplaced keys and saved me countless hours searching while staying small enough to carry everyday.
The large, open back pocket is very handy for tucking the shoulder strap out of the way when I don't want it to get caught on anything. The waist strap is amazing on my bicycle, I can actually bunny-hop higher due to the weight being snug at my center of gravity and it stays put very well. It also tucks neatly into that back pocket so no snags! The cell phone pocket is a bit small for most smart phones so I keep a flashlight there. I keep my concealed weapon in the main pocket and no one gets nervous because the bag is very far from the typical paramilitary bags one would expect.
At this point the bag is pretty full so if you have any further requirements beyond some pens and pencils then you should probably look elsewhere but simply having a central place to keep my keys plus a few other accessories make this bag wonderful for me.
Also on my Warp bag, I sewed some PALS/MOLLE webbing onto the front just below the wallet pocket so that I could add a cell phone pocket. That worked well but made the bag just a bit too bulky for everyday use. I do wish they would include some accessory straps for times when I need just a bit more space. Perhaps some thin straps inside would be nice to help organize the contents.
Overall I love this bag!

Comments about Osprey Veer Vertical Shoulder Bag:
I needed a new bag for running around town and city trekking when traveling, but wanted something smaller than a full-size backpack. This bag fit all those requirements for me.
I just returned from a 2-week cruise in the South Pacific. This bag was perfect for shore excursions. It had room for my point & shoot camera, small travel tripod, North Face rain jacket, maps and a travel guide, pen and paper. It has a nice phone pocket on the strap that fits an iPhone perfectly (but it might not work for Galaxy phones). There's also a side mesh pocket that's perfect for a water bottle or an umbrella. The shoulder strap is completely adjustable for just about anyone.
If you want a good bag for travel, but don't want to haul around a normal size backpack, consider this bag.

Comments about Osprey Veer Vertical Shoulder Bag:
This bag is great, the only thing I would change on it would be to have a flap instead of a zipper for the main compartment. Otherwise this bag is perfect, it has a lot of pockets and plenty of space. I use it as a purse/handbag and have received plenty of compliments about it

Comments about Osprey Veer Vertical Shoulder Bag:
I've used one of these for six months almost daily, mainly walking the dog (3-6 miles on sidewalk and trail) and some bicycling. I'm satisfied with the bag but not pleased.
The size is right for a couple of water bottles, a dog-bowl, and a snack, and it holds an eReader or a hardback book just fine. The outside bottle pouch holds a 800 ml water-bottle and the top slash pocket holds a smaller one.
It carries the weight well if the bag is thrown over the neck and slid around to ride on the small of the back, but -- and here start my gripes -- when you do that the padding on the strap rests on your chest, not on your shoulder, and can't be adjusted. That's not awful, but it's odd. That top pocket that holds a water bottle well occupies space inside the main compartment and makes the main hard to get to. If it were half the size, like a sunglass pocket, it would make more sense. The front slash pocket is too small for a hand and too deep for fingers, so fishing something out of there is a real pain. The front flap sort of opens to sort of reveal some pockets that are too small for much -- I have a pencil and a spork and have tries other things but have ended up just throwing them in one of the two bigger pockets because it's easier. There's a side pocket in front of the main pocket which is fairly thin, I have a couple Cliff bars and a notebook that wouldn't stay in the front in it.
The hideable waist belt is a nice feature, especially for bicycling, and the fact that the bag is made from recycled material is a definite plus, but I keep looking for a replacement with better pocket placement.

Comments about Osprey Veer Vertical Shoulder Bag:
I would first clarify by saying this is perfect for an airline carry-on IF you do not have a laptop. But when I travel without the laptop, this is one of the more comfortable satchels available.
I use this bag almost exclusively when I go birding. It is perfect for the binocular, field guide, notebook, (small) water bottle, and all the other little odds and ends I carry. I even put my wallet, passport, keys, etc. in it. I try to avoid anything in my pockets when I am out walking/hiking.
That being said, the pockets are mostly a pain to access. I am always squeezing my hand into an awkward position just to get something out. Even the front flap does not fold completely out of the way, meaning I have to hold it away from the bag with one hand while getting items with my other hand.
Overall, I would say this is a great design. I would strongly urge Osprey to improve the openings to the pockets.

Comments about Osprey Veer Vertical Shoulder Bag:
Finally, someone (Osprey in this case) has recognized that items of incidental need on day-to-day basis are too many to fit comfortably into pockets. For instance; wrap around sun glasses, reading glasses, billfold, Swiss Army utility knife, coin purse, pens & note pad, copy of Constitution, etc., etc.
This bag is big enough yet comfortable in all respects.

Comments about Osprey Veer Vertical Shoulder Bag:
I rate this bag a 9.5 out of 10 which is about as highly as I'd ever rate a bag, and I've had many. The Veer is close to perfect. My only complaints, and they are minor: 1) I would like an interior zippered pocket inside the large one, 2) I would detach the cell phone holder on the strap if I could (I have to really cram my HTC Incredible to get it to fit) and 3) The zippers can be difficult to open and close because of the rain guards. Honestly though, I'd rather have a bag that stayed dry. This seems like it was built more for a man's straight-up-and-down body, but it fits well and the strap length is adjustable enough. I love a bag with a water bottle holder. I am a sysadmin so I carry around a lot of gadgetry for work. One of my favorite parts of this bag is that it lays flat against your body when mostly empty, but easily expands if you really want to test its capacity. I only use my purse now for weddings and funerals. Highly recommend this bag.

Comments about Osprey Veer Vertical Shoulder Bag:
I was looking for a diaper bag that didn't scream "baby" and would keep all the necessities organized and tidy. This bag can stash the diapers, jacket, wallet, water bottle, changing mat and more no problem. I also wanted a bag that I could strap across my back securely while wearing my baby. The waist strap enables the perfect three point harness. When I need to access my wallet, I just have to unbuckle the waist strap and swing the bag to my side without having to take it off or disturb my little one. I also love that it's structured enough to not collapse if I need to squash it in a stroller or tight space. Great value!

Comments about Osprey Veer Vertical Shoulder Bag:
Although I used this all around, I brought it and its main usage remains, for my airline travels. This bag proves to be a perfect size for the extra carry on. So I used this plus my large daypack to hop on the plane. This bag fits my PSP, headphones, food, drinks and even couple of magazines but yet takes up so little space under the seat ahead of you. While its an useful bag all around, for air travel, its fantastic!
