Comments about Swany X-Cell II Gloves - Men's:
This is just one of those must-have garments. SO many uses, not too heavy, not too light, great layer, great stand-alone, etc. Absolute wardrobe staple. You'll find this to be a go-to garment, almost to the point where you neglect others...

Comments about Swany X-Cell II Gloves - Men's:
Keeping your hands warm with these gloves is not an issue. I used them in near zero conditions for a full weekend and they preformed well.
Service and delivery comments:
As always REI delivered earlier than expected. Well done REI. Another reason why REI is my go to outdoor retailer.

Comments about Swany X-Cell II Gloves - Men's:
Great gloves!!! My only complaint is the adjustment cord that hangs off with a small t-puller. First of all I don't need to tighten the gloves that way, secondly if I leave those things hanging they occasionally get caught up in something while I'm skiing, which is a pain in the butt. So I spend the extra time to tuck them inside the glove cuff, or up my sleeve.

Comments about Swany X-Cell II Gloves - Men's:
I purchased these gloves this year after tearing the palm in my favorite pair of trigger mitts. This year I chose to buy a pair of gloves because I have begun back country skiing. I opted out of buying mitts, which I truly prefer, but felt the need to have fingers in order to properly grip and handle all of my equipment (buckles, zippers, tools/lunch the usual). I am happy with these gloves and their performance thus far this season.
The grip is reasonable and what is expected from a glove, I quite enjoy the buckle/closure because the two strap system resembles my previous trigger mitts. They are easy to put under a sleeve which is how I prefer to ride. I especially like the pockets/zippers on the outside of the hand. When I placed a hand warmer in each hand for the trip down (temps were less than 15 degrees) I felt the warmth immediately. Likewise the zip came in handy today, literally this afternoon 12/23/12, when temps were above 30 and so I opened the zip to cool my hand and it lowered to a reasonable level. I don't want to give the impression they cooled off significantly, but it was nice to feel a change in the glove when I opened them up.
I used to ride with a liner in my trigger mitts, but have not been riding with them this year. In my opinion these gloves are worth buying if you are looking for something functional and warm. I did find the price a bit discouraging, but with a 20% discount and the love of a rei gift card from a family member for a birthday I went for it.
Finding a great pair of gloves can seem overwhelming because of the vast array of choices, but after getting hands on with these at rei I took a chance on 'em and have been satisified with their performance.

Bought these on sale for my husband to replace his old leather ski gloves, wow this are the best! He loves the fit, warmth and features. Really worked great on our first day up skiing with them.

Comments about Swany X-Cell II Gloves - Men's:
Been looking for a pair of gloves that gives me the same feel that I get with my old REI gloves. Most gloves are too squishy when you try to grip a ski pole, or they're too thin to be warm. These however, are great. The grip is comfortable, firm and natural. The extra long cuff, was perfect for holding off the wind and snow on this year's ski trip. Everyone else had cold fingers, but mine were comfortable, and had no need to even consider adding a heat pack to the convenient pocket on the backside of the glove.
The size on the pair I bought, was Large, and they fit me perfectly, however I have small hands, for a guy, so you will want to "try before you buy".

These are amazingly comfortable and they look really (really!) cool! They are kind of expensive compared to the other gloves at REI -- but they are soooo worth it!

I use these for everything...including skiing. While I thought I was crazy spending this much on gloves, I expect to reap the multi=purpose dividends over the next several years.

Comments about Swany X-Cell II Gloves - Men's:
Tried several "Motorcycle" specialty gloves and this is by far the best. Don't have to break them in, comfortable and keep you warm on a winter morning 4:30am, 35deg outside, 80 mph. Love them.

Comments about Swany X-Cell II Gloves - Men's:
The sales person raved about these gloves when I purchased them. While dexterous, you pay for the dextarity with thin leather that will wear out within a couple of seasons. Don't expect Swaney to stand behind their product either because they won't. After a lot of follow up, I received an offer for a discount on my next pair but never got the discount code. Very disappointed. I have since joined the crowd of happy Hestra owners.
